I rarely start threads, but this is just too good to pass up.

Debord went from being a genius to being the worst OC in history, Butch is just never going to be a winning coach, AK is the new messiah, Jalen shouldn't even play football anymore, and oh, let's not forget Dobbs is terrible again.

Our offensive line has never been good. We started the year as being serviceable, but that was just about it. Now, we've lost our serviceable line and replaced them with all RS and true freshmen again. Do any of you really believe we stood a chance against the best defensive line in CFB with a bunch of guys who have never even touched the field hardly before?

But, but we were so good last week. We put up 700 yards on one of the best defenses in the country. Haha, really? No, If you put up 700 yards on any defense, guess what, they're NOT VERY GOOD.

I posted this last week and said this would be a big part of our problem this week.

Ranking of Rushing Defense we've faced:

1 - Alabama

17th - Va Tech

20th - Ohio

39th - Appalachian St.

67th - TAM

109th - Tennessee

Is it becoming somewhat clear why our offense had success last week and why Alabama ate us alive yesterday?

The more mind bottling part to me was this week watching some Vol fans think we were not only going to win but put Bama away because they hadn't played anyone of our caliber yet.

Maybe all CFB fan bases are this delusional, but I have never seen such a bunch of "play-by-play" fans in my life.

Vols Jimmy's and Joe's are not up to championship quality players, it is what it is unfortunately, a mid level SEC team:blink:

2015 game total yards...UT 303 BAMa 343. I guess Kerbyson and O'Brien were the missing links this year.

People don't realize we literally played Alabama with our second string. We kept it a game for a half but their defense and ground game completely wore us out in the second half.

We still win out and get 5 games to develop our new starters before we play them again.

Hurd needs to have a bigger role at the H back type position where we seen him lead block, he can catch the ball out of the backfield and is good for several designed run plays. Him and AK should both be on the field at all times. Putting Hurd back there as the lone back is not a recipe for success.

with all these injuries Tennessee can't stay on the field with an elite alabama team very long. hopefully next year UT has better luck with injuries.

Look, Jalen chose to come to UT. He saw what offense we ran.
Don't blame it on anyone but himself, that he is not satisfied.

And Kamara is better than Jalen. He almost singly handedly beat Texas A&M.

Hurd has never taken over a game.
He's never even had a 50 yard run.

Trying to figure out if "mind bottling" is a joke I missed in another thread or if you really think that's how it's supposed to be said.

I tend to agree with that. Being such a huge contributor last year, he is being spied on almost every series. Watch what Reuben Foster does after Jalen's first 2 successful runs.

Let me bring a non Tennessee perspective here, Alabama played their most complete game of the year yesterday. This was the same team that gave up 30 to Arkansas and 43 to Ole Miss. Sometimes you just have bad days, these are 18-22 year olds who carry the hopes of an entire state on their shoulders, sometimes they just don't perform. Add in the fact that you had several key players out and it adds up to a bad loss. Continue to build your program, take care of the teams you have on your schedule and get healthy for another shot at Bama in Atlanta. Say a few prayers for us next Saturday, I've got a feeling we'll need a few miracles to keep it close in Tuscaloosa.

It's just way to easy to read with one back. The tight end will give it away every time. At the snap he will either block first down/backer(run to the strong side) or pull to the weak side and block the end/olb on a power type scheme(run to the weak side).

Having two backs back there allows for mis direction AND mis direction with a lead block. Also opens up for PA and hit Hurd or AK in the short field. Offense would open up so much with the two of them on the field and would be easier to mask our o line deficiencies

Is this starter, will continue being the starter, and is overall better and more consistent than any of our backs. It is what it is. That's why he starts and why the coaches trust him more.

He's taken over many games, but oh how everyone forgets his contribution to this team.

Alvin did well against a garbage defense. Jalen would have done just as well if not better.

And lastly, Jalen came here to help turn this program around. He wanted to rebuild TN football. Quite possibly the dumbest mistake he has ever made, right? He came to a horrific offensive system with no O-line. Now, everyone wants to blame him like this mess is all his fault, runs him into the ground, and completely forgets how he has fought for this team.

Trust me, by the way he's getting treated by this joke of a fan base, I'm sure he wishes he was somewhere else right now too.

OL is for sure a problem but Kamara still looked like the best RB yesterday. Not by a mile but still looked like our best bet at the position.

I completely agree, sir. I hope that our coaches will make these adjustments. It would do wonders for our running and passing game. If we don't make changes now (due to our injury situation), we're going to lose more games down the stretch.

Who is treating him poorly in reality? He shouldn't be coming here and neither should family of players, its toxic to see what people say about you in anonymity and have that chit in your head. So it's on him if he's coming here and letting that get him down, or it's on you if you're running to him telling him all these negative things. Nothing personal it's just the way it will be when you go finding out what people say behind your back, doesn't matter if your the feature back at UT or seeing what your office co workers say about you, it has the same affect.

No, he's not coming here nor would I ever tell him what these clowns are saying. But you do realize people are directly cussing him on Twitter, Instagram, email and to his face? I was told that this morning.

You do realize that there are more idiots than just the people that post here, right?

There's plenty of blame to go around when you lose like this. Injuries are part of the problem but definitely not all of it.
