Who's the best QB in the SEC thru 6 weeks?

I'm not talking pro potential, anything like that. Thru these 6 particular game, how would you rank, let's go to top 5 qb's in the sec?

Personally, based off of pure effectiveness thru 6 games, I'd have to go"

McCarron
Driskel (These 2 are a good bit ahead of the next 3 imo)
Shaw (Although I don't think he's even the best QB on his team)
Manziel
and 5th is difficult, but it's down to Murray and Bray to me. I'd probably go with Murray just because he holds the H2H Win vs Bray.

What are your thoughts?

1. Shaw (dooley would call him a baller. Kid plays good)
2. mccarron
3. Murray (his o line made him look horrible tonight and to many dropped passes)
4. Driskel
5. Bray (when he has a positive attitude)

No way ,Driskel is better than Bray
Not so sure Murray is.He is about like Bray you pressure him and he gets rattled.Bray has thrown balls also that have been dropped.

I just can't put Shaw in the top because he had one game. McCarron has done it all year, he just doesn't get his team beat, and he's a smart system QB. He might not have the pro potential, seeing as how JPW and McElroy aren't doing much in the NFL, but they were some of the best game managers the SEC has seen in a while. Driskel might be the most improved player in the country, and as bad as he played in the first 2 games, He has become a game manager and a quality dual threat qb.

Manziel has to be the freshman qb of the year, and in the running for freshman of the year at any position. He's going to be a star in this league.

Shaw does deserve top 5 status, as he is also a great dual threat, I'm just not sold on him, solely because I don't even think he's the best QB on his team. I still think Dylan Thompson is a better QB.

And like I said, Bray/Murray decision is tough. It's hard to decide between them based off of this season's performance, but I think they are 5/6 in the SEC definitely. I put Murray first because he is a smart quarterback, and more of a field general than Tyler, but that's very subject to change pending Tyler's comfort going thru the year.

And TBH, Manziel/Shaw is a tossup for me as well, but they're def 3/4. Might could even put Manziel at 3 just because of how well he's played, and it's been pretty consistent, and against some pretty decent defenses. He's also already lead a comeback, which is a HUGE quality for a starting qb to have.

i hate to say this i really do, but driskel and shaw are better than bray. WHY??? Very Simple, they are mobile and can run and make plays with their feet. Bray might throw a better deep ball than both of these guys but he doesn't not run ever.

I say this...


1.) Shaw (Mobile)
2.) Murray (Mobile)
3.) Driskel (Mobile)
4.) Mccarron (Serviceable Game Manager)
5.) Bray ( Pocket Passer Only) Easily beatable by pressuring and blitzing. Mainly due to panic and improper coaching and play calling.

As of yesterday we had the top passing attack and the qb with the most yards. I take bray.

He also has 2 losses against QBs you put below him. Driskel way outperformed bray in knoxville. While Bray was pouting, Driskel led his team to dominate in the 4th quarter. Driskel > Bray.

So you are saying driskel is better than bray? The comma makes me think that.

Even though he's only a redshirt freshman, Manziel is the QB I'd least like to face right now. He's having a remarkable year so far, ranking 1st in the SEC in total offense and 3rd in both passing efficiency and rushing.

I still think bray is very close to the top. If cp and hunter caught the passes they dropped against Florida we probably win that game. There were also huge drops against Georgia. Dreiskell is actually maybe the only qb I'd put ahead of him mainly because he's a duel threat guy. Shaw would be in the top 3 as well. Nothing against him but I don't think u can really tell much about mccarron. When your stat line is 9-15 for 160 yards and u win by 5 td's...it's just hard to know what he'd be doing on any other team.

I'd least like to face mccarron. Not because of his skills but because of the team around him. I think we beat a&m
