How would you like to be that agent in Alabama right now. One thing you don't do in that state is mess with the Tide.

The state AG was already checking him out before the beat down. They will hang his arse now.

Wonder if that agent is related to CPF.

I hope the attourney general tracks this agent back to Saban for some new year's violations.

It's strange the way Saban handled this with the typed memo. He loves being in front of the cameras. Why not just take care of it in the presser? Oh yeah, we don't want questions as a distraction before the game. No wait when he left LSU they mulled over it for almost a whole week.

It looks like Saban tried to nip this thing in the bud before suspicions run wild.

Could it be that Smith and Saban had some type of communication problem about his agent and this is Saban's way of saying hit the road before you cause me a problem?

Smith is awesome and could be a legend there. Smith said himself that he hadn't made up his mind but Saban's statement reads as if he's saying don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Anybody who says this is an embarrassment hasn't been paying attention. Utah is 59-16 over the last six seasons, including six bowl victories and two perfect 13-0 seasons. Alabama is one season removed from losing at home to ULM.

Left Tackle (Smith) suspended for Utah game.... Rumored to have received money from an Agent.
Lost another starting O Lineman during the game as well, which obviously made a huge difference especially giving up 8 sacks. Utah had a great game plan though and executed it to perfection. Big win for the Utes.

Utah would have never been undefeated in the SEC, but wow, kinda wipes out Ole Miss' win.

For that matter, no one in the SEC was undefeated either this year. Utah has a good team that deserved their ranking.

Im sure a lot of you UT fans are surprised...but a lot of us MWC fans aren't. Utah has a good team with a great QB. IMO, Brian Johnson is much better than Alex Smith (former 1st pick) was at Utah.

A lot of fans seem to focus on Alabama's O-line troubles, but the truth is Alabama's D and expecially the secondary had no answer for Utah's spread. Utah could have put up 50 on them if they needed to. So even if Alabama had their O-line intact, Utah still wins that game.

Finally, you guys will really think this is crazy...but I don't think Utah is even the best team in the MWC. TCU has more speed and size than Utah and should have beaten Utah at Utah. TCU beat previously undefeated Boise State in the Poinsettia Bowl. Alabama would likely finish third in the MWC.

I know there will be a ton of replies of "MWC is garbage" and so on...but this is the honest truth. This year the MWC was 2-0 v. SEC, 6-2 v. PAC-10, 1-0 v. Big 10, 7-2 v. WAC.

Finally, can't wait for next year. Us Cowboy fans are excited for our new coaching staff just as you Volunteer fans are.

I actually think you are right on with regards to the TCU statement. I also think you might be right about BAMA finishing 3rd in the MWC this season, but the key here is that BAMA is built for the SEC, not the MWC. Had they recruited to run the style of offense they play in the conf (MWC), then it might be a different story.

You all have had a super year. TCU knocking off Boise actually shows that the conference has more depth than most thought.

Another couple of seasons like that out there and I've have to consider lobbying the NCAA for an auto-berth...that, or take it away from the Big East.

I am sooo glad the stinking bammers lost. I hope that turncoat scumbad (barron something, the one that grew up a Vols fan from Knoxville only to become a bammer) feels like like the dirt he is.

Buck Fama now and forever!!

MWC is probably stronger than the Big 10/Big East at the top, but they would need to fill out the remaining teams to vie for BCS conference status.

Throughout the bowl season, I was really looking forward to the Cotton Bowl, I thought it would be a great game. I was not let down. Houston Nutt has done a tremendous job at Ole Miss. Congrats to him and the rebs. I did not give Utah the credit they deserved, I had planned to watch it and hope for a close game. 21 - 0 at the end of the first quarter. WoW! Thank you football gods. 2009 could be a great year. When UTAH scored later on in the game, I went to give my wife a high five, and she said "I can not believe you would not pull for Alabama to win" I chuckled and told her that there is NEVER a reason to pull for bammer! GBO!
