who's predicting a double digit win over UF

Their QB wasn't on the field, advantage us. Fake FGs normally work bc you have the element of surprise. If Butch suspected a fake then he should have been able to signal for them to play FG safe, force UF to burn a time out to change the play.

Well obviously Butch is an idiot. I mean it is absolutely unheard of for a coach to call a TO for personnel etc. I bet Saban has NEVER done that.

I'm predicting a single digit loss. It's been a loss for the past what, 11 years? I'm betting Jortsville until proven otherwise.

There is no point in arguing with an "until I see otherwise" person. Their logic isn't sound and they are usually bent on being negative.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Those who read my posts know what I thought of Florida's talent level last season.

While I will freely admit that Florida's talent level is not where it normally is or where I would like it, it is a much, much better football team in 2016 than 2015.

Now, I don't want to be misunderstood. I know Tennessee should be a better football team too.

All I am saying is that some of you seem to speak as if Florida is going to be worse than last year. That's just not the case.

I can believe that you'll be better than you were when you played Vanderbilt, Florida Atlantic, FSU and Michigan. You better be.

...and fwiw, I think Florida has lost more than they have gained. They will miss Hargreaves and Neal in particular.

That's just so easy to say," this staff show some balls and lead". Dafaq? That's one of the things that gets to me on here. People try to look forward to the upcoming season and are excited because *ever since Butch has been here* we improve *every* year. But somebody always gotta say blah blah blah I can't see anything *yet*. How in dafaq is that possible?! :)

I agree with you. I understand that your defense was one of the *best* in the SEC last year. You had a Qb probelm but over all you had a good team. Your receivers last year was fast as the road runner. I don't think all of a sudden Florida sucks and frankly don't understand why people would think that now. I've looked at your roster and you guys have some players. Btw is Scarlett going to play RB this year?

You didn't catch any of their games from Vanderbilt on I take it?

On paper, the Vols should and would win this game if it was played on the opening weekend and both teams were 100-percent healthy.

By the same token, the Vols would have won last year if the game was played on the opening weekend. Our DL vs their OL should have been a huge mismatch. But Maggitt was lost for the season and Barnett was playing at half-speed. Biggest advantage of the game was negated right there. No way they convert all those 4th downs with the pass rush we saw at the end of 2014.

This year, the same advantage should exist (their OL will be better, but so will our DL), while our biggest disadvantage of our OL vs their DL should be lessened quite a bit. But who knows how those matchups will fare by week 4? If we stay healthy, I really like our chances. Win in the trenches with a big advantage at RB and a small advantage at special teams? That's how you get the W.

Unless, of course, Del Rio ends up being some spectacular can't miss pro-caliber QB, which wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Florida will miss Neal. VHIII is a great player, but he just happened to play at the deepest position on the Florida roster.

If there is one thing on Florida's roster that is where it needs to be in order to be a championship level football team, it's CB.

They'll miss Bullard more than VHIII.

They will be better at literally every position on the offensive side of the ball. The one exception is QB. I'm not prepared to say that QB play will be as good as Grier or what I think Grier was going to become, but it's a whole heck of a lot better than Treon.

In some places, the talent is better. In some places, the talent is a year older. They are also no longer running a new system.

Oh, and they can attempt a field goal without it appearing on a youtube "epic fail" video clip.

It's not where it needs to be in order to compete for championships, but it's going to be a pretty good team with a much better roster than last season.

Good lord. You can say what's in bold about Tennessee - and most college teams. Tennessee didn't lose anyone that contributed much last season. We certainly didn't lose two first round draft picks or any draft picks for that matter.

We essentially got the equivalent of VHIII, a better Antonio Morrison, and a better Kelvin Taylor returning to the team...while also getting better in the same spots where the Gators will be better.

I'm not talking about Tennessee. What Tennessee is or is not has nothing to do with what Florida is or will be.

The general consensus is that Tennessee will be a better football team in 2016 than they were in 2015. I don't think there is anyone who disagrees with that.

The general consensus opinion on Florida (that I see here) is that Florida will be worse this season than they were last season. I'm telling you that, IMO, that's not the case.

Now, you can choose to believe that or not. That's up to you and we will eventually find out.

It's also the case that I can be absolutely correct and that Florida is a much better football team AND.....Tennessee beats Florida, wins the East, etc, etc, etc.

I have said numerous times that it is quite possible that Florida has a better football team and has a worse record than in 2015.

He's not talking about any other team or Tennessee. He's simply discussing/giving insight to what Florida will be/has coming back. I don't understand the fuss here....he didn't compare Florida and Tennessee.

Until I see it otherwise, I can't even pick us to win. We could put the 85 Bears in Vols gear and they would lose to UF. Makes want to ****** puke.

Well, I mean, come on...what were you expecting to happen if we dressed a team of 50-60 year olds to play?

I didn't say that he did... but his statement that they are either better in parts or a year older in others can be said about most college teams including Tennessee. That's not insight. His argument that they won't miss Hargreaves is also highly debatable. I'm glad he's gone.
