who's predicting a double digit win over UF

I'm more of a fan than you since I actually have faith in my team.

Why don't you root for Florida since your so sure they'll always win.

That's just how he rolls. Anytime there is a Florida thread, he can't wait to show up and slurp on the Florida fans. It's like clock work.
He used to be one of my fav posters, until I noticed this.

Its quite pathetic.

I'm guessing Florida fans laugh their ass of when they read posts from "fans" like him.

I know I would if I was an opposing fan.

I'll name my next kid after Butch if he can beat FL this year.

Edit: Yes, that's how much I want us to beat FL.

You going with Butch or the more technically correct Lyle (with Butch as a nickname)? Or maybe just call the kid Gatakilla?

BS! You're not ish!! You're here because of one African-American player, not because you have ANY affection or allegiance to the program or university. I've been a diehard Tennessee fan much longer than you've even been alive son.

And then when you were flipping off the program and university because Brent Schaeffer wasn't playing and then pulling for other teams altogether because they weren't winning, I was living and dying with them year after frustrating year.

You're evidently not smart enough to discern the point being made. You have NO EARTHLY IDEA about our series with Florida, NONE, since you're not a fan and haven't witnessed/lived through it.

I'll be pulling for Tennessee, my Alama mater (and the soon to be alma mater of my first child) to beat the ever loving ish out of the Gators again this September, just like I have nearly every year since 1976.....while all you'll be doing is hoping against hope that Dobbs' passing numbers are good so you can come on here and pound your chest.......that's the extent of your "fandom". You know it, I know it....everybody on VN knows it. Your arrogance knows no bounds.

Ut scored final TD with about 10 mins. left in the game not in 3rd qtr. UF got the ball and scored again to pull to 27-21 with a little over 4 mins left in game. You can say Butch "tucked his junk" but you could also say he trusted his running game, which his strength, over his passing game on UT's final drive.

You just described his point. Butch did go conservative. Florida loaded the box because they knew Butch didnt want to thrw it. Butch wanted to burn the clock.

This year... Florida im sorry to say is not as bad as we wish them to be. I predicted them to win the East last year even though we had the overall talent edge. Coaching.
Shoop should help even out that deficiency.

Still Florida played a lot of young guys that have experince now. And that defense of theirs will be good again. And they have recruited well, not Florida status qou, but very well none the less.

To win, we have to create turnovers.

Breathe in. Then breathe out.

Relax.

You might explode pretty soon.

The coaches smelled a fake. Also that's yet another 4th down we blew. So no, I don't have an issue with that because the % were on our side. Sometimes it just goes against you.

if thats the case then they should be able to shift defensive alignments thru hand signals...not taking a time out. that should be an easy adjustment to make w/out using that time out.

down and distance, and FL"s kicking game prowess should have dictated that to be the case.

instead we got caught reacting and over thinking.....

just wondering who thinks its close

10 point win

or absolute blowout

cant help but notice the confidence which ill admit is for a reason youve recruited well and return dobbs, kamara, hurd on offense

plus barnett, jrm, sutton, and quite a few youngsters that should get better like kirkland, tuttle, mckenzie, phillips etc

wr are stacked with talent too but zach azzanni kind of sucks almost like muschamp wr coaches

South Point Casino in Vegas has us as an early 12.5 point favorite. I like their confidence.

the other thing...if you're aware of FL's kicking game issues, you're in a favorable down and distance from a field position stand point....

why not have FG Safe on in the first place? you have to think that the chances of them attempting a 30-35+ yarder are slim, unless in a game winning or end of half scenario.

i think that's the most frustrating thing for me about the time outs in that game.....the idea that they weren't prepared for those type of situations given the personnel FL had...it felt panicked to me, like something happened that the hand't anticipated as being a possibility...which shouldn't happen.

the good news is that's fixable, and i don't recall it being an issue again later in the season.

Man, we've got a bunch of arguing and name calling going on in here. Maybe we should

keep calm.png

But that would only result in this

Kiss My....png

Carry on!

florida has all kinds of issues on offense---UT should win this game by 13+. It could be a bigger margin with a few turnovers.

His point was that Butch shut it down in the 3rd quarter, after UT scored its last TD, which is wrong. Butch was conservative when UT got the ball back with just over 4 minutes remaining. However do you really trust Dobbs to throw downfield in the clutch? And the gators are not an easy tesm to throw short against because they are so good at press coverage. Dobbs as a runner and our RBs are our strength on offense. I would have been fine with some sort of screen to an RB, but I am never really comfortsble when Dobbs throws downfield. And apparently the staff feels the same way.

Had they not taken the TO and a fake happened the same would be saying "he had time outs and didn't use them". I've seen many, many coaches take a TO in that situation.

The worst part is on our last TD we were lining up for a FG and the offense executed on a defense that was expecting a play for the endzone.

Go Figure!

I mean.....

Go Vols!

Their QB wasn't on the field, advantage us. Fake FGs normally work bc you have the element of surprise. If Butch suspected a fake then he should have been able to signal for them to play FG safe, force UF to burn a time out to change the play.
