Who's got the asterisk?

Note the web page also says they are 4-0 against top 25. Unless we lose this week, we are top 25 and I think they lost.

is this whole asterick thing, why i read that if we make it to the SECCG and lose then we will be the SEC #3 and not the number #2? that is even more retarded than sharing the SECE title with the team we tied by W/L and smoked on the field.

Well...if it is a matter of division, then UT has lost to only 1 SEC East team...where Georgia has lost to two. But....I think that everyone recognizes SEC losses as SEC losses....we each have two (as of now) ... but UGa lost to us. I don't see the "sharing" argument right now...but perhaps I can be convinced otherwise..

If you only look at East division loses Florida would win. They only have 1 division loss, and hold the tie-breaker over us.

And to your earlier question, if we beat Kentucky Saturday, Georgia and Tennessee will be co-champions of the East. Since only one team from the East can play in the Championship game, they use a tie-breaker, and Tennessee holds that over Georgia.

I see your point. Do they ever look at just east losses vs. SEC losses at some point in the tie breaker? Obviously it is SEC losses first, so Florida is out. Then, is it head to head...and then divisional?

They use divisional, but I'm not sure what other tie-breakers are first.

Eric, glad to see you are still alive. :p

Off topic but I have Rock Band.

Anyways, I'm 99.9% positive that if we win we would be declared Co-Champions of the East.

Who would have ever thunk that after the Florida game melt down that we had that Florida would be in third place and we would be one game away from the SECCG..:)

I heard UT players/coaches mention this is our 4th SECe title since 2001 also. Looks like UGA isn't the only one claiming it.

still, what a crock. i can understand sharing the east title in a 3 way tie but with only 2 teams at the top is shouldn't be an issue. we have the same sec record, yes, but the fact that we defeated them should give it to us outight.

am i the only one this bothers???

No, I am right there with you. It is only made worse by the fact we embarrassed Georgia. In the end, we are the only East team with a shot at the SEC Championship so I suppose we can take some solace in it.:glare:
