Who's going to "The Game"!

I'll be at Neyland in spirit. I'm a hermit when it's Tennessee-Florida I hate being around people and trying to watch a huge game like this.

I wish I could find some cats in Eastern Carolina that are Vols fans, I'd watch it with them. Any of you all out there?

Warning: I get emotional and break things, will scream at TV while pointing finger.

Oh your telling me......You remember "The Catch" in whats was it like 2000 when AJ Suggs was the QB. The one where he """caught"" the ball in the endzone. Anyway we all remember it.....haha AJ Suggs man that seems like ages ago......anyway I broke out a window in my house after that, i was still in HS at the time thinking my dad would kill me he just kinda overlooked it because he's been guilty of the same thing.

Yep. How far is the Mariott courtyard from the Big Orange House?

I'll be at the game and I might be 'there', too, Septic (as in the Mariott Courtyard, not, like, the existential 'all there' bit. Mentally, I never make any promises).

I got offered a choice between 2 big games or Homecoming before the season by my Dad and Infamous Stepmother (most years I only get offered a sacrificial-victim game, and then it's only Homecoming if I'm lucky). When I asked which I should choose, the fine members of this board basically argued that if my big-game choices were LSU or Florida, I was an even bigger putz than they thought if I didn't choose Florida.

In the interests of keeping up the whole 'putz? me?' illusion I've got going, naturally I went with Florida.

I never know which hotel they are going to check me into, and generally don't ask in advance- 1, it might seem pushy and impolite since they're paying for it; and, 2, I'm just thrilled whenever they check me into a residential facility, that it really is a hotel.

I'll try to figure out how to find out in advance if we're staying in the same place. That would be cool, even if I'll only be on the property a few hours all told.

On a totally unrelated subject, do you have any daughters?

I'm coming from Austin Texas. Haven't missed a TN - FL game at Neyland since '92.

I envy you.

Also, do you remember when I saved your life in that whirlpool in the sea in 1996? At the time, I told you "no" to the lifetime supply of UT-UF tickets, but now that I'm older, I'd like payment for my heroics that day.

Ok, they're in the mail... :)

Truth be told, I'm little hazy on what transpired that day... but I do remember two things distinctly, anger and rain.

I remember the relief you had when I said "no" to the tickets. I also remember a distinct smell of ... nevermind.

I hate all of you that are going to the game!!!:)

I have tried and tried to get tickets, but alas I don't have a thick enough wallet. That and all my connections have run dry, because they are all going to the game. I guess I will be at Indigo Joe's in B'ham with the other Vol faithful. The cool thing is that last week, there was a very large contingent of Florida fans (not quite up to our numbers, but hey). There could be a riot there.

What are the odds of getting tickets at a reasonable price outside the stadium? I am thinking not good, and four hours is a long way to drive on a wing and a prayer

There are ALWAYS pleanty of tickets.

Last week, there were still some on sale at the ticket office. Call them and make sure they don't still have some for face value.

Other than that, there are always 8-12,000 tickets available on the street before any game. Tennessee sells so many tickets to brokers, there are all kinds of guys with hundreds of tickets in their hands. Also, there are the regular people selling their extras. The longer you wait, the cheaper you will pay. My suggestion, find a guy with a bunch of tickets, stand back and watch him until it appears he only has a few left, then hit him up. Take a buddy and split up with cell phones.

I've NEVER gone to a Tennessee game and NOT gotton a ticket, and until this season I've not been a season ticket holder.

I'll be there in ZZ 12 row 8. I just moved back to TN a couple months ago. I grew up here but took a job in FL right out of college. I've been supporting the VOLS down there the last seven years. I'm so glad to be living in TN again! I got my hands on a set of season tickets this year! I can't wait for the Gators game. The last UT-FL game I went to was in 2001 when UT went to Gainsville and beat the Gators with a 34-32 victory. That game was awesome! I ended up sitting in the Florida endzone with all Gator fans. I was the only VOLS fan in the whole endzone section! I had my UT shirt, orange and white painted face with Power Ts on each side along with my big orange wig. Boy did I get some hateful looks and comments. I almost got in a few fights with some drunk Gator fans. I'm a pretty big guy and I stood my ground and proudly supported my VOLS while deep in enemy territory! Go VOLS!

I will be there ticketless playing the game with the scalpers....Great thing is you go to the game for the end not the first 10 min. So, if you are willing to miss kick off then you can go for $20 or less.
