I know there has been a lot of speculation on this already, but realistically, who's it going to be? Do we have any shot at signing anyone new this year? Or are we leaving it up to Crompton or Coleman? This scares the heck out of me, please tell me we have some solid options here. :hmm:

Crompton only has 1 year of elgibility left and will have to learn a new offense, something he's had problems doing in the past. One of Coleman's major strengths is his running ability, but Kiffen doesn't place a lot of importance on this. Stephens has the stronger arm, IMO he will be the starter.

I heard Stephens was thinking about transferring, don't know if that's true or not. I'm hoping CLK has a greater plan because if we got rid of two prospects to be left with nothing but the same bad offense I'm going to be really ill. :banghead2:

Not sure that we land one this yr but heres something to consider... If we do not, im anxious to see what CLK and his staff can do with one of the three QB's that we currently have! I got a feeling that theres enough talent in place to have moderate sucess in 09'.

I agree with you. I just find it hard to believe that we have 3 highly rated QBs coming out of high school and all 3 turn out to be flops. At least one of them can get the job done.

i dont get why everyone consideres coleman to be a flop. He hasnt had enough playing time to be proven to be a flop and iv heard nothing but good things about him. We have a good QB, he just needs some more playing experience.

Because 8 passes at the end of a failure of a season is an accurate representation of a QBs worth.

Wait... what?

That's what I don't understand either. It's got to be bad coaching, something just wasn't clicking with these guys. I'm praying the new staff is going to light a fire under one them.

you would hope...

I have my faith on Stephens or Coleman as next years starter. Which ever quarterback shows he can handle the job will start next year.

I really believe Stephens will be the starter for the next two years. He seems to be calm for the most part, has a strong arm and is not afraid to step up in the pocket. He seems to see the field pretty well too. Our OL was so bad last year, he just didn't get a fair shot. Crompton just doesn't seem smart enough. If Stephens is the starter the next two years, that will allow us to get a big time QB in 2010 and let him redshirt to learn the system. I believe Stephens will be our QB next year. Proper development will be needed, but I think he will get that under Kiffin.

Starting out as blank slates, or course with a little film watching having happened, of the three candiates to take the job of QB. My opinion is the gunslinger from Texas. As bad, I mean bad, as our offensive line was, Stephens showed the most poise in the pocket, the most heart, and the most fire of the three. Once again, my opinion.

I can't remember the players name but he lacked about a yard getting first down. He was on the sidelines laughing and the coaches did nothing. Stephens confronted him straight up. I like this kid!!!!!!!!!!

Really? I thought that Stephens was a bit stiff and ineffective under pressure. Granted we didn't get to see a whole lot of Coleman but I thought he had a lot more poise and heart than the other 2. I guess Spring practice will be interesting to say the least!

i'm pretty sure it was briscoe. it was like 3rd and 7 and he ran a six yard out then just kinda flopped to the ground after catching the ball. didn't even fight for the first down..
