Dont really know, but I read that a guy that went to my high school who graduated this past year got on UT's football team. I have heard nothing of this, but have heard several people speak of it. His name is Chris Sells from Chattanooga.

With the rule change we just need someone able to kick it into the end zone. I say any kicker that can do it on a consistent basis is going to be highly sought after. In the future.

It's a walk-on kicker from Chattanooga. He tore his ACL in the spring and is a great soccer player. He's been kicking pretty good this week, but we still have to work him some more. He kicks it from the goal line to the 10 most times.

So for everyone who has talked bad about soccer players, think about it before you say something

Fulmer said he has been inconsistent the past few days, but that is because he hasn't been able to kick much until this week. He says everyone has a chance come Saturday, though.

I say put him in the worst that can happen is he kicks it out of bounds. Its seems like CAl started at the 40 every kick off anyways

Wait a minute, are you saying he can kick the ball 90 yards?
I think hes saying on kickoffs he kicks it imbetween the 10 and goalline. So 60-70 yards. I had to read it a couple times to get it. Or maybe he is Jesus and can kick it 90 yards:eek:hmy:

So who is black 33? Black 33 is walk-on kicker Devin Mathis. Mathis was a all-state soccer player from Chattanooga Baylor. Mathis is a sophomore in college and a former high school teammate of offensive lineman Jacques McClendon.

Mathis was supposed to be out for spring practice, but could not kick because he tore his ACL in an intramural soccer game last fall when he was not on the team. He got the knee fixed and rehabbed on his own and came out a couple of weeks ago to start kicking. On Wednesday, Mathis kicked it well during the part of practice that the media was allowed to watch.

"He is getting back into it right now," head coach Phillip Fulmer said. "We are working to get him back into it right now. He was very inconsistent the last couple of days, but he has not been kicking a whole lot. Anyone is a possibility for Saturday. He has been released from the doctor since last Monday so he is available. I hope he continues to improve."

Fulmer said Mathis was not kicking off from the 30, but his kicks clearly had more height and distance that the kicks from Chad Cunningham and Daniel Lincoln. He clearly is a guy we will keep an eye on.

Fulmer said he wasn't kicking from the 30 though, but that he clearly had more distance and hangtime than Cunningham and Lincoln.
