Who's better off?

At this point, who really gives a crap about Wilcox?

He helped us out by leaving so we could hire a better coach without having to buyout his contract.

I always got he feeling that Wilcox wasn't in comfortable in knoxville. His interviews were awkward. He reminded me of kiffin. I knew he wouldn't be here long. Not a VFL!

Washington is a safer job and its in a conference that won't eat you alive. The future of UT's staff is in question and if you don't suceed early the presure builds. The Washington job is easier and the pay is the same. Answer: Wilcox.

I am surprised we were able to get a guy as good as Sunseri with all the rumors and speculation surronding the program. It shows that it isn't as bad as it seems to be at times. Both Wilcox and Sunseri have jobs that they can do well at. Hopefully Sunseri can do better than Wilcox did when he was here.

Great Avatar!

Now that the DC search is out of the way and some calm has been restored to Volnation, I wanted to see who you thought ended up in a better situation. Wilcox or Sunseri?

Edit: mods please add poll

Well, both really. Regardless of how anyone feels, Wilcox is a great coach and I'm happy he is back in the PNW.

Sal is an excellent hire and this is a tremendous opportunity for him as well as the University. Sal brings a ton of character to the program. CDD is big on VFL and character building.

I remember the 97' and 98' teams praying after every game. Nearly every player was in that huddle. It was an incredible site.

Both guys are in favorable situations. Sarkesian has somewhat restored order in Seattle... at a time of considerable volatility at UCLA and USC.

Wilcox did alot of the dirty work and left CSS a unit he can excel with.

I am digging this Sunseri hire..I always had a feeling that Wilcox just didn't quite fit in.. I think I hated to lose Sirmon more so.. Excited to see what Sal can bring, he's paid his dues...

I'll agree with that, really hated losing Sirmon much more than Wilcox, never felt Wilcox's D schemes were too hot; we've really seen a decline in sacks, qb pressure, & turnovers w/ Wilcox

Sunseri is coming into a 10x's better situation than what Wilcox did 2 years ago. Sunseri could end up looking like a genius next year with all the talent we have coming back next year and with an offense that will be much better and allow the defense time to rest. No questions about Sunseri has a GREAT opportunity in front of him.

I will say we had one of the fastest scoring offenses in Division 1 football after those first 4 games. The defense didn't rest all that much.
