Who get's the top ping pong ball? By the way, I think this is the biggest bunch of bs way to set up a draft.

Oh well, he will be buddies with the baby Gasol in the barbecue capitol. But they might pick Thabeet. Who knows around here.

Clippers fall in love with Rubio... replace the aging and expensive Baron Davis. Griz get Griffin.

If they take anyone but Rubio (assuming Griffin is gone), I quit.

That would be acceptable.

Does that mean the end for Mike Conley?
Hopefully.

Conley played as well as anyone on the Memphis roster the last two months of the season. Point guard isn't anywhere near their biggest need.

They need experience and a dominant PF. Hakeem shouldn't be starting.

I remember hearing that some people within the Memphis organization liked Thabeet better than Griffin. Not joking.

That's not saying a whole lot.

Conley has not shown anything (IMO of course) to lead me to believe he can be a top notch PG in this league. The little bit I have seen of Rubio, I have been impressed.....though admittedly, it has been minimal.

They could definitely use a better 4, no doubt.

Who are you thinking they should go with assuming Griffin is gone?

They should trade the pick.

I was reading one of the mock drafts in which they had Memphis trading the #2 to the Knicks for David Lee and the #8 pick. The only thing certain on a mock draft is that Griffin will be the top pick but I don't think Lee would be worth trading down for either.

Then you haven't watched David Lee enough and must not have seen how awful the Grizz are at power forward. If the Knicks make that offer, Memphis should take it before Donnie Walsh sobers up and rescinds it.

Rubio reminds me a lot of Steve Nash. Vastly overrated and more a product of a system. From what I have seen, I can't imagine Rubio even competing with the top 10 pgs in the association.

“Rubio doesn’t want to go to Memphis, and he especially does not want to pay money out of his own pocket with that huge buyout for the honor of doing so. Fegan [Rubio’s agent] wants him in L.A., and if he can’t have him there, he wants him in Sacramento. Definitely not Oklahoma City. “

Unlike Griffin or Hasheem Thabeet, who don’t really have any choice where they will play next season if a team decides to play hardball, Rubio has a reasonably attractive alternative option at his disposal—returning to Spain.

“He’ll pull out if he doesn’t like what he’s hearing,” the NBA source tells us. “Or he can stay in and force the Grizzlies to call his bluff—would they really take him knowing that he may never come over? That’s one way to get him to fall to three.”
