These are the most likely scenarios according to sports writers. Which one would you like to see the most? Personally, I'd like to play Texas to prove that we are the real UT.
ESPN writers Bonagura and Schlabach are predicting Tennessee will play Iowa in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. I would like for Tennessee to take on Indiana in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.
Texas is the most intriguing matchup and would be the best test. Indiana (yes I know they're having a solid season but still) would be the easiest to get a W against.
I'm not sure we're quite ready for Texas yet. They aren't great but they're pretty darn good. Since I live close to Memphis, I would like to see us play Oklahoma State in the Liberty Bowl. It would probably help with Memphis recruits as well.
I hope they are in the Music City Bowl, because I would definitely go to the game. Who they play is not as important but how about Indiana or Minnesota? They are both pretty good, right?
Iāll be pumped no matter who we play as long as we take care of business and make it to a bowl.
Indiana - id be interested to see their QB Michael Penix. I know he was originally committed to come here until the coaching change. I havenāt really kept up or heard much about him since heās been at Indiana.
Michigan- always good to beat them at any sport. Iām still not over Charles Woodson stealing the Heisman. It would be good to see Harbaugh whine some more about the SEC after a big win by the Vols.
Texas - that game would get a lot of viewers and would be a good way to get more exposure to Texas kids who might not have given us much thought with our struggles the last few years.
Oklahoma State - a little payback for Gundy for playing us twice during coaching searches to get himself a raise.
One game at a time. Got to steal a road game and beat a team that has had our number as of late. Too early to talk bowl. 5-7 is still a possibility with the QB situation as it is. JG plays next week like he did this week and we'll have to beat Missouri at Missouri to make a bowl.
After the way this season started, I will take any win in any bowl. Just so the team gets the extra practices, and the guys going into the draft get one more chance to impress scouts. They do need to win out to get that chance, right? I'd focus on that instead of planning for something that hasn't happened yet.
