Butch Davis is the best we can get. But we better start this soon. Or he may be gone especialy if it keeps getting worse in Auburn.
My dream choice is Mike Leach. But, Mike Leach is a weird sack so I doubt he would survive the interview. Did you see him in the post game interview yesterday? Have you seen his bizarre pirate obsession? Still, I would love to watch that offense in orange.
My second choice would be Brian Kelly. He's won at all the programs he's been at which is a big must for me.
Butch Davis is a good choice also but I honestly think UNC will open their wallets to keep him and the ACC is there for the taking if he sticks it out.
I don't wan Muschamp because he hasn't been a head coach, and I don't want Lane Kiffin because he failed as coach of the Raiders (see Bill Callahan). I'm not saying those guys won't end up being good head coaches, I'm just saying I want to minimize the risk and they are definitely risky choices.
Todd Graham is another interesting idea, but he would be farther down my list because he hasn't had sustained success yet.
Bill Callahan ruined the Raiders after taking over one of the NFL's better programs. Lane Kiffin started the rebuilding process Art Shell and Norv Turner failed. There are about 30 guys I'd take over Mike Leach. Not running the ball won't fly in the SEC.
Like I said, Kiffin may turn out to be good college coach. But he hasn't shown me he is yet. He lost with the Raiders, rebuilding project or no, and he was merely a cog in the machine at USC. So on my list he's behind the guys who are proven winners like Leach and Kelly.
And I'll have you know that Texas Tech is averaging over 100 yards per game rushing right now, to go with their over 400 yards per game passing. They actually have more rushing yards than we do, both through 6 games. To me, it's the perfect approach. The rest of the conference is recruiting the bulldozing lineman and we're falling behind. Lets get the lean agile guys they get and toss it around.
The last time Texas Tech played an SEC defense their vaunted O put up a 6 points. Leach has only one season thus far where he's lost less than 4 games. That's in the Big 12. He's far from a proven winner.
They scored 10 actually, and that was his worst team at Tech. And the Big 12 is not the Sun Belt, in fact it's better than the SEC this year. And he's 2-1 against SEC teams overall. And Leach has never had a losing season as a head coach (more than you can say for UT's last 3 coaches). And, thats all I got.

Not it isn't. OSU, Missouri, and Kansas=frauds who haven't won a big game. They scored 10 actually, and that was his worst team at Tech.
