Who would you like to see as the next coach? (merged)

Doomsday scenario: Fulmer keeps his job and fires Clawson. Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions continue to struggle and Kippy Brown is fired. Kippy Brown (Fulmer's first choice before looking at Spence and Clawson) becomes our new offensive coordinator.

How does that taste?

So how many more humiliating games are we required to lose before CPF is definitely gone? :crossfingers:

I, as a huge Vols fan and looking out for the best of our team, now and in the future, wish we would lose them and move on to next season with a new head coach who can motivate our players to win. It's weird wishing your favorite team in the world to lose but I know it's for the better and we'll be a better team for it in the future.

Some may disagree with me all you want but CPF isn't a head coach and never has been. We need some one who knows what they're doing.

every single day i see people saying "john gruden this, john gruden, that" but seriously? You guys really think that Gruden is going to come to UT (he was only here for two years so he's not even alumni) and leave a successful NFL team? If he really wants a boat load of money he could find some other greedy NFL owner but he is definetly not going to come back to the college ranks (where he even a head coach at). Why don't you guys set your eyes of somebody we actually have a shot at like Will Muschamp or Lane Kiffin and stop wasting your time day dreaming about Gruden.

Is this the "Official" we're not going to get Gruden thread?:eek:lol:

I think Doomsday is an understatement for that scenario.

Gruden is 51-50 as the Bucs head coach he is horrible and and I want him gone from my Bucs but he will land another NFL job when hopefully after this year the glazers get rid of him and don't say he won a SB that was dungy's team that won that he put that team together

In my perfect dream, I'd want Pete Carroll. I admit I have a man-crush on him, but I don't see him in an adidas Tennessee polo next season.

Honestly, I think we'll end up getting either Muschamp or Butch Davis.

And Dungy consistently failed with that team...

Anyways, the Bucs seem fine now... I would take Gruden at UT in a heartbeat.

Too bad that the Glazers are more tied up in Manchester United than Tampa Bay.

your obviously not a Bucs fan the Bucs are not fine right now and Dungy was going to SB before he got cheated out of one in 1999 when bert emanual caught that ball but the refs said he dropped it and we lost 11-5 to a rams team that was avg well over 30 points a game that year

Not too good ,nothing like chicken,But there's probably more merit in that happening than all of these ie "dream coaches "even coming here

Didn't you here? He went 5-15 with the Raiders.

UT fans are so used to losing. Some of them want a proven loser as coach.

Here is the funny part

1. if the guy has a losing record in NFL, he will be called a loser, and hence can't fit in Tennessee, a winners' team

2. if the guy has a winning record in NFL, the doubts are even more: too expensive, too far away from college football realm, may not know how to recruit, etc

So, the conclusion is that we should not consider a former NFL coach because he is not gonna fit regardless.

What do you want from the Bucs? It isn't college where you can put together an outstanding team every year.

Talking to a feller the other day and he said that Bill Cowher had expressed interest in returning to the college game and he likes being in TN

Regardless of who Tennessee hires next, one thing is certain: We will all hate him relentlessly and long for the day he is fired.

Butch Davis is the best we can get. But we better start this soon. Or he may be gone especialy if it keeps getting worse in Auburn.
