If you were to choose who would play Tennessee in the 2nd round or Sweet Sixteen ect...assuming we get there.

Who would it be?

My Pick...

Duke

I have been watching the UNC//Duke game, and Duke looks tired as all get out. With the depth we have, I think Tennessee could win that game. By the time we got to the 2nd Half Duke would be wore out, if what I'm seeing today is true.

Plus, whoever beats Duke in the tourney gets praised by the Media, or gets hated one. Whatever it is, we would still get alot of attention.

IDK, Gerald Henderson just layed our Hansborough. I don't want Chism or Crews to get in a brawl.

I'd like to see us play most any of the teams we've lost to.

One team I don't want to play is Winthrop.

Yea, I saw that, I thought Hansborough was gonna kick some :moon2: .

...and yea, I never like playing good mid majors. They can be more scary than teams like UNC, UCLA etc...

Does the committee try to avoid rematches from the previous year's tournament? I was thinking about that earlier today in hoping to not see Winthrop again...

The sad part was listening to the commentators trying to take up for Henderson.

Yea I know, I don't think he meant to do it. But still, when he got up he had blood coming out like crazy. I figured when Henderson got ejected UNC fans would start throwing stuff.

But Tyler Hansbrough probably broke his nose. He might start wearing a mask for awhile, lol.

I'm not sure...

The latest bracket I saw had us a 7 seed going up against Xavier, but alot has happend since then, and we're probably a 4 or 5 seed.

But yea, I don't wanna see Winthrop again because they are better this year than last.

it pisses me off when a team that finished 7th in their conference and projected to at least be a 5 seed in the NCAA tournamet.

No way we get 7 seed. We are at least a 6 even if we lose to LSU, maybe even a 5.

I don't know if Henderson meant to do it. The only thing that kept it from being considered a punch was the fact his hand was open. He slung his arm in a violent downward motion in the direction of not only the ball but Hans's face.

The ball was already away when he hit him. It may have been a spur-of-the-moment reaction that he now regrets, but, at the time, I think he meant to hit him, maybe not break his nose, but hit him...hard.

That's what I was thinking. It was heat of the moment and he probably isn't dirty like that but stuff happens. He thought that if he kept his palm open that it wouldn't be as blatant.

if chism or crews had done it, they would be suspended for a few games but a guy from duke will get away with it cause they are duke.

The officials reviewed the play and ejected Henderson, then later said in a joint statement that under NCAA rules he would be suspended for one game.

This is what I've found.

So just like everybody else, the dookie is being suspended.

I say, I would love to play Ole Miss and Auburn in the tournament. I say that Tennessee will beat Ole Miss in the quarterfinals if they can get past LSU in the opening round. Will Big Baby be back for LSU?

I think I would rather play LSU with Big Baby. Especially if we can handle him like we did last time.

Not sure why the UNC starters were in at that point in the game, though. I think UNC was up by 12 or 14 with 14.5 seconds left in the game.

LSU is a terrible 1st round matchup for the Vols. You never want to play a team you have already beaten earlier in the season. They beat Fla without Big Baby, and now they're getting him back - and they know they have to win the tourney to get into the dance, so they're gonna be pumped big-time. We don't match up well against them with their size, so we have to hope that we get their guards in foul trouble and press the sh** out of them and get a bunch of turnovers.

I hate to say it, but I think LSU has a significant advantage in this game, and we'll need a great game to win.

And BTW, the shot from Henderson was definitely intentional - probably not intending to do the damage he did, but it was dirty, and a 1-game suspension is definitely in order.

I think Roy won't make that mistake twice, and apparently he had a sub should TH have made his second FT. Fortunately I've heard Tyler H. isn't too badly injured. The only thing that could come from your starters being in the game with the game decided is injury.

We need to take full advantage of their lack of a true point guard.

Yep - that's how we won the first game, even with a limping Lofton. We have to continue to win with Defense - of the crazy intense variety.

One thing that worries me about the game is that I'm afraid Big Baby getting hurt did the same thing for them that it did for us with Lofton. Their supporting cast might play better with him now that they've had to play without him.

Agreed. The stars are aligned for LSU in this one.

We seem to get really tough matchups in the SEC Tourney, not to mention playing poorly. I think this is the toughest of all 1st round matchups - but if we can get by this game, we could do well.
