He will in time unless Neal and Young get it together. I think the coaches stuck with Neal based on what he did in camp. Late in the game he started running the plays right, and the results improved. Just wait and see because that's exactly what the coaches are doing.

Replace? I didn't like some of the running formations or calls but way too early to even think about it. Enjoy the victory for crying out loud.

I know a lot of the Clawson stuff is in jest, but i just thought about this from 08 and i got mad all over again.

Georgia defensive end Demarcus Dobbs and linebacker Rennie Curran both said it wasn't hard to stop the Vols. They claimed they knew 80 percent of the time which way the Vols were running.
Dobbs said the Bulldogs keyed on whether Tennessee lined up its fullback inside or outside, and if the tight end moved to the backfield. The alignment of tackles Chris Scott and Ramon Foster also tipped off the direction of runs.
"We knew their keys," Curran said. "We knew when they wanted to run power and when they wanted to run outside. We were just hungry and waiting. It's a lot of fun to play football when you know what's coming."

I never said replace in my post I just asked why he didn't get more touches. He had an 8.3 average for crying out loud give him the ball a few more times.

Why in the world would you want to get rid of Chaney at this point? As a previous poster said, what game did you watch Friday night???? Must have not been UT vs. N.C. State!!!! Good grief! So far yours is the dumbest post I've read today, but the day is still young....

Because the running game is not the main focus and the game was still in doubt. You play to your strengths. If Lane keeps running like that then he'll get the bulk of the carries.

The other guy I like is Danny Langsdorf from Oregon State,
His offense is usually pretty balanced between the run and pass, not to mention explosive. Seems like every Qb he works with breaks records.

Not to mention both of these guys would bring much needed youth to the staff with Riley being 28 and Langsford at 40.

Who would you guys pick?

We are a pass first Offense plain and simple. Enjoy this year because Bray, Hunter and Patterson are gone early. Then we are left with Worley to lead us to an SEC Championship. Stop and smell the roses.

Why get rid of Chaney? I guess the OP's point behind his question is if Chaney gets a HC somewhere down the line. I am not even thinking about that at this time... I am still savoring the victory the other night against NCSt. Glad the offense looked like.... an offense. Moving the ball on the ground, WR getting open, making catches, breaking tackles.

I have always wondered the last few years why we could never move the ball like 2nd tier schools (WAC, ConUSA, OVC) could. they could put up an offensive show, but we could barely break 200 yards a game. I am glad that explosiveness is back in Big Orange Country. I feel that we can score a lot of points this year in the SEC and maybe take a game or 2 that maybe we aren't suppose to win.

I was pleased with the HC on the sideline. The last 2 years I have not felt that DD was a competent HC, he was just a pretender. I saw the other night that he is in charge. The moment i saw it was when Neal was trying to take everything outside, and DD just lit up. Kept telling him to Pound it inside. Finally, Lane came in and pounded it inside a few runs in a row and got us down to where we finally scored. That is a HC that realizes that when something doesnt work, change a piece of it and see what you can do.

sorry for the ramble.... just a few thoughts i had on my mind this morning.

This thread is a good example of how volnation eats its own. Maybe you should consider cutting the OP a little slack. Just a suggestion.

Wishes Chaney would take that RB from Bearden and make a Mercury Morris out of him . not big enough to pound it up the middle but he has the speed to round the corner .2 backs Lane and tight end block Chaneys doing a great job

I agree that we are a passing team and think we backed off a little to not show everything we've got in the passing game, and even think they went away from CP to try and get JH some touches to keep him happy to. I was just pointing out that Lane was running well and just thought that the number of carries should have been closer between the two. I do like Neal as a RB though because he is a home run hitter in the back field, but he needs to hit the opening and get to the second level and then try to bounce outside.

35 points, 333 passing yards without a pick, 191 rushing yards in the season opener against a descent opponent in the season opener and someone starts this thread....unbelievable ...

I don't think his opinion is based on one game. Chaney's play calling has been suspect for awhile.
