Who wins? 2012 vs. 2015 vs. 2020 Coaches 3rd year

Wild considering the LB's are the best position group on the roster.

Curt Maggitt and A.J. Johnson hard to beat. I dont think all the slant passes are completed with those two on the field

There was some talent in that 2015 team. The fact Butch couldn’t do more with it hurts. That said, they would kill this years team. Only advantages I see is 2020 might have a better offensive line, and maybe linebackers in 2020 are better, but that one could be argue as pretty close.

There are probably 50 coaches in the country that would have taken that 2015 team to the playoffs.

Butch had the better roster. His only downfall was recruiting JG.

Don't agree. People misremember that offense a lot. It didn't do a lot in a lot of meaningful games at the meaningful times.

Put Dobbs on this team and we win the East.

Oh I remember it fairly well. We were clearly outmatched against Bama and UF but we literally had the worst defense in Vol history that year. I'd have to go back and look but if we would've had an average D, we would've only lost 2-3 games.

That's a whole different argument. You're taking one player and putting it on this team. Bray would've feasted with this talent on the OL and defense.

Dobbs doesn't get enough credit and there's not a doubt he would be putting up good numbers this year if he found a rhythm in his passing game. The only problem I saw with Dobbs while he was here was that he seemed to make bad decisions when he had time and he rarely had it with that putrid OL.

With an equally good QB, the 2020 team would win. But both 2012 and 2015 could beat us with JG. We are deficient at the most impactful position in 2020. Hurd, Dobbs, and Kamara made us special on offense in 2015, but the o-line was weak. The 2012 QB and WRs were crazy talented, but no defense. Both coaches were bad.

Another question: If each coach led all 3 teams, who would win more games? It’s clearly Pruitt in my opinion.

Seeing all of those players there makes me absolutely sick that we have been in the hole we have been in for the past umpteen years. We have had some insanely talented players wear the orange, and yet, just couldn't put it all together. Goodness.

I do feel like better times are coming though. If this recruiting class holds, and adds a few more, I think it will be the foundations of something really special, in addition to what is already here.
