Who will play QB next year?

I am very disappointed that Boyd wont be coming here because KIFFIN told him not to come. Ridiculous. Already I am mad at the new coach...that sure didnt take long.

Besides the fact that I was excited for a dual-threat, we dont exactly have anyone waiting in the wings that inspires any confidence.

Read the story right, Kiffin told him he had a spot, but his offense might not be what he's looking for.

IMO the only thing I am worried about is making sure we have a QB in play for this system.

I want you to remember Dec 2007 when a new coach was hired at a major university. This University lost its starting slot WR, and Wideout, its starting RB, 2 of its offensive line starters, 4 of their starting defensive 7, and of course its MVP on special teams...

that team started a new philosophy and was excited to begin practice...it played hard and had very militant and tough practices (it literally had people thinking it was a NAZI-like practice) because it was so tough...(btw Kiffin had some warnings from NFL about practicing to hard and too much)

that team had a great season by winning 3-9 and the worst record in 100 years....

I WILL BELIEVE IN COACH KIFF, BUT WE JUST NEED TO GET A QB WHO FITS THIS SYSTEM OR WE COULD BE THE NEXT MICHIGAN

and for you people who say they lost Long, Hart,Arrington and Manningham and Henne...it just means they had better players at those positions

I've said for awhile around here that next year's starter is already on campus. Guess people will start listening now.

already questioning kiffins judgment w/ boyd considering what we have in house at present.and dont much care for the reaves hire as s.c. q.b.s have been terrible.

another thing i didnt care for was dismissing all the defensive coaches ranked 4th in the nation while keeping 4 of the offense coaches ranked 116.

i know its a recruiting deal, but i also know he has no intentions of keeping any of them.again it just makes him seem less than truthfull while using these guys like a roll of toilet paper (bad example of our program if you ask me)

i think kiffin has potential, but im far from sold!

Dark Horse Prediction......
Zach Mettenberger

I am putting 5 dollars down on this guy, if word comes out it is somebody already committed elsewhere.

You know this guy is committed to UGA and Watkinsville is right down the road from the stadium.

Hopefully CLK can get Crompton's head right. Our QBs suck. I don't get the Coleman love or the Stephens. Maybe we can steal a high-ranked QB. From what I've heard Boyd didn't have enough arm strength. His acc and decision making are good but CLK wants one of those atleast 6'3 QBs with alot of power that can throw it up deep to the big recievers like USC does.

We need a more uptempo passing game. Crompton stands in the pocket too long, then misfires 60 percent of the time. Stephens seemed better to me--but he is rather deliberate too. Didn't see Coleman. IMO we need a //much// more effective short passing game--and we need more speed/quickness at WR: you put some guys with wiggle on the field, get them the ball and hope they break a tackle and go. You get playmakers in space: UT has been unable to do that. You gotta put defenses on their heels a bit and then //execute//: we could do neither this year.

Look, I love the Kiffin hire, but I am a little concerned with him turning Tajh Boyd away. I just don't understand. Who does he think we have at the QB spot next year? Has he not watched film?

Is there something that I'm not aware of? We need a QB that can AT LEAST manage a game! Not Crompton.

Somewhat agree, but if Boyd does not fit his system, why would Kiffin want him? I know is a stupid analogy, but V Young is a good qb, in the right system (not the Titans). Kifin must had someone he thinks he can get.

I don't know about that kid. I live in the county where he goes to school (Oconee Co. High School) and didn't know he was that highly rated (I don't follow recruiting that much, but knew he committed to Georgia). But he plays for an awful team and he sure didn't get a lot of wins for sure. He didn't play in the top classification and didn't play against metro Atlanta competition. I don't think he will see the field with Georgia, but it sure never entered my mind that he could start for Tennessee and win.

Ainge was a basket case in 2005. A coaching change made him a very good QB. It seems pretty obvious that Kiffin isn't worried about it. The biggest problem all three QB's had was the OL play was inconsistent at best.

Beg to differ my friend. The offensive line was very consistent, but they were consistently bad!
Those guys will be the heaviest McDonalds Hamburger Flippers in the world.
