Who will have a better season Crompton or Kevin Riley

didn't you lose your starting WR and are likely to play 2 true freshman? jones was a pretty big recruit btw. he was injured most of last season, but has been lighting it up in practice. but i'd admit he is probably the only real gamebreaker. boatang, ross, and tucker are just "pretty good."

He's a gator, droski

right. sec defenses being ranked high has nothing to do with a) sec offenses sucking and b) the cupcake non conference schedules.

Why is it when the SEC plays a Pac-10 team 9 out of 10 times we put up a lot of points with our terrible offenses? I bet any SEC team would love to play a Pac-10 schedule every year.

As I understood it, UT was getting most of their starting WR's back by the time the schedule got harder.

Crompton looked superb picking apart that marshmallow UCLA defense last year. In all honesty i'm not going to hold my breath for any substantial improvement. I saw the poll yesterday and voted for Riley figuring he's a $5000 claimer in a $2500 race.
Never said Crompton did it last year, as bad as the offensive system/play calling was Peyton Manning couldn't do anything in it...It was horrible...That being said there was no reason for Crompton to have to pick apart UCLA when we could have ran all over them all night

Riley won't face the defenses of UGA, Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, or UF.

I voted for Riley for that reason.

The SEC is clearly the best conference in the country, but pac-10 teams have not had a problem scoring against SEC teams historically. All i'm saying is that your defensive statistics are exagerated (as the pac-10 offensive ones probably are too).
I can agree with that....I know the reason our defense was supposedly so "good" last year was because we played some pretty bad offenses, but that's not always the case in the SEC either

I think what UF did to the OU offense in the NC game last year speaks volumes as to the quality and type of defense that "most" of the SEC plays.....and UF wasnt even #1 in the SEC East in Defense. I know this argument can go back and forth and never end, with noone ever changing their minds. I just think the quality and type of athletes that play on Defense in the SEC trumps the offenses any other conference can throw out there, but thats just my opinion. I do, however, root for Cal to win (when they arent playing UT, of course) most of their games. I am sick of always hearing about SC and their dominance in that conference. Time for Cal or Oregon (the only 2 P10 schools I see with the resources to challenge SC year in, year out) to step up. I also admire the round-robin nature of the schedule in the P10, as well as, at least for the most part, P10 teams like Cal and SC not being afraid to play OOC games against great teams on the other side of the country, like Tennessee and OSU.

+1

I agree even more with you about the OOC schedule....With the exception of this year, I like to think UT plays a pretty tough OOC schedule year in and year out...That's JMO though
