Who will go?

Of the assistants who do you think will be gone or should be gone after the end of the year, regardless of how the season plays out?

Personally, I think Mahoney. Obvious reasons.

Hot seat:
CZA
Martinez
Stripling
DeBord

I put Stripling on there because we have under performed when full strength with exception of Barnett but I mean it's Barnett.

Martinez has done a good job with Cam but other than that I think we are mediocre in the secondary besides safety play.

CZA, he needs to go in my opinion but the only downfall is his recruiting ability.

DeBord. His play calling has been better in my opinion this year but I think his style of spread is not the answer. Id like us to go after a high profile OC

How about no one. How about we don't fantasize about firing our coaching staff in the middle of a season while we still have a shot to go to and possibly win the SEC Championship Game.

The more I think about it, the more I believe we dont have a quality SEC level staff as a whole. Mahoney and CZA need to probably go. Debord? I will give him another season with a different group of playmakers to see what happens. He has shown flashes of being good. Strip? I think he is good enough. Martinez? Well thats an iffy situation. Maybe give him one more year and see what happens.

What will likely happen? Nobody goes anywhere.

Having said all of that, I probably know less about football than most so take my opinions with a grain of salt.

Don't forget about making it into the playoffs. It's not impossible.

Mahoney definitely needs to go. No improvement yet we have tremendous talent on the OL. Azzani probably needs to go too. Other than that there's nobody else that really sticks out. All the defensive coaches should get an automatic pass because of all the injuries. I'm not one for calling for people's jobs but if you haven't seen improvement in certain positions by the end of year 4 then those position coaches need to be reevaluated. They will probably get one more year to prove themselves because of Butch's loyalty but I bet next year is all they will get or they will be gone unfortunately. Just the way it is.

Unless he's the best recruiter of OL, I don't think he can justify his continued involvement with the program based on his development of the players.

Dobbs has played good football this year, but he isn't Debord's type of QB IMO. Next year if Dormady is the guy, a lot of opinions may change on Debord.

FWIW, I agree with what you said 100%. I don't think anybody goes anywhere.

I think Shoop is going to be allowed to evaluate his assistants.

I'm not impressed with Shoop though. Im on record, on this forum, against the firing of Jancek.
