I think we go for Newton 1st and then Sims. That will even out the QB position and we will not have to rely on Stephens to be our QB next year. I don't know why people think that Stephens will start a couple games and then be pulled. CLK has shown us that he will stick with who ever he starts at QB through the year.
My pick is.......................................NEWTON

I don't act like I have connections to the school and such but the constant thing I'm hearing in the recruiting section is that Matt Simms is heavily favored over Newton by Kiffin and the Coaching Staff.

If I was a betting man I would take Matt Simms at this point.

i like newton, but X says the coaching staff likes matt simms , phils son. who was the most underrated QB in nfl history. and im a bears fan we had some tough games against them. in the 80s the giants and niners were our biggest competiton.

Word is that Quarterbacks coach David Reaves is going to Texas today to watch Cameron Newton. So at least there is still interest there. I would not rule him out just yet. GO VOLS!

Not sure how any of you could ever want Nick Stepehens to play, he is technically a downgrade from Crompton, and his attitude is lousy.

He may quit team like BJ after next spring. True Freshman or Juco will be the man.

Anybody got any ifo on Matt Sims? Why didn't he work out at Louisville? Newton couldn't beat out Tebow....don't really think that's a negative on his resume'

Dude, we have actually seen him play, and in SEC games.

Ya know, you can't really say that the worst game a man has played is all that he can do (Wyoming), but you can definitely say that the best you have seen him play is what he is capable of doing (Georgia 08). Stephens has shown flashes of rifling that ball, competitive fire and running for first downs too. Nick was not on the field competing this past spring when CLK was drafting his offensive package. We could do much worse.

1. Stephens most likely to start 1st game next fall
2. LaMaison next ... we wanted him, we got him, by next spring we'll see what he can do with an understanding of our system.
3. Bray is possible as a true freshman; Ainge showed it can be done.

Nick has a bad attitude, I know I meet him a couple of times and was not impressed. He may have skills and talent but I just don't see him starting for us. I would bet that we will take another QB for 2010. Cameron Newton or Matt Simms look to be the highest targets. GO VOLS!
