I've got to veto Pat Hill and Mike Leach. Neither have ever won their crappy conferences. I'm also not sold on Will Muschamp, either.

Those three would be the first ones to recieve phone calls if I were an AD looking for a coach.

Is Steve Spurrier completely out of the question? I still think he would be great if he could go to a school who can be made to win (no offense to any SC people). Maybe he is outdated too lol.
If not him I would love someone with great defense. Offense seems to be the fad these days but Defense wins (LSU, OSU, USC). Maybe we could get Bo Pelini?
Hell we could even go out on a limb and get that HS coach that made the A-11 lol jk

I think i've seen this list before :whistling:. Brian Kelly and Jim Harbrough would be my top two. I wouldn't mind seeing Dan Hawkins on the 2nd tier list.

No chance for Bo Pelini. I'd rather have someone younger than Spurrier.

Oh well, I feel like we need a great defensive coach. I really not sold on the Rutgers guy and no one else comes to mind. I'm sure there are great ones out there, but we should be thinking about it now and possibly planning for the future. I do not really see Fulmer staying more than a couple years more at most. I think he will feel the pressure(whether it is warrented or not, and will save face). just my opinion.

Yea! 5-6 kids from So Cal are coming to Knoxville each year because the OC from USC is at UT! NO CHANCE!

You honest to God don't think a coach with tons of talent in and around the area of their school doesn't make connections with high school coaches?

So if we can't support the current team & the coaching staff. Then lets write the season off . Find a new coach and start all over next year. Since that is what so many of you want.

I dont think they should have to go 10 or more years before they win an outright SEC title. With the money paid to CFP they should be more competitive than they are.

Phil isn't leaving anytime soon. He'll still be here through 2010 unless the staff wants new blood. We've had only one losing season with Phil and lots of schools that haven't had a winning season would like to have a coach like Phil. He'll average his 9 wins per season and go to bowl games. Of course he has to have good athletes to do that. Do the Vols have as good a team as we've had in the past. Only time will tell. I still believe we'll do no worse than 8-4 but still foresee 9 regular season wins. We need no worse than a split of the following games: Georgia, Florida, Auburn & Bama. Win 3 of them and we're in good shape.
I'll stand by the team through thick and thin. Only real Vol fans will do that. Don't get down on the "BIG ORANGE." Give them your support.
GO VOLS!

How about Bill Cowher, could Tennessee entice him away from TV/would he fit? He certainly knows what he is doing when it comes to football, but what price would he come for?

How you like King Spurrier now Big Papa? For all you who said Spurrier, what do you think of him now? The game has passed him by and he does not even care. Spurrier would be worse than Fulmer at this point.
