Dungy's ready to leave the NFL, but not to coach college. He's ready to leave coaching altogether, right?

Bill Cowher would be great to hire today, but he's not coming.

Lovie Smith is happy in the League.

would be excellent and I think he would put our team thru a Spring practice that would be brutal but would insure that they were ready for the first game of the season. His enthusiasm I think would be contagious and would lite a fire in all of us.

And to the poster that said Will Muschamp was the D-coordinator when AU went undefeated it wasn't him the D-coordinator at that time was Gene Chizik who is now the head coach at Iowa State

Pete Carroll...No way he is going anywhere...He would not take the millions to go to the NFL so he is not leaving to come here...I think the best fit would be Bill Cower but I do not see Phil going anywhere anytime soon...:twocents:

I suggest checking birth announcements around the country for potential candidates - although there's a good chance TNHFCAUTK hasn't even been conceived yet.

The only way CPF is gone after this year is if the AD Min forces his hand to make a Def Co change. I don't think he would do it, so he may leave on his own.

Keep this name in mind...Bronco Mendenhaul (sp) from BYU. He could be a sleeper choice. JMO!

No no no. I want a defensive minded coach who will be able to stop Florida not just score with them. Not hard to get a good offensive coach but you have to look hard for a great defensive coach.

I feel for you guys, I really do. I know when we were searching for a new coach it felt like nobody in the coaching world would have anything to do with us!!!
I think Spurrier would LOVE to come coach at a place that has a chance to ACTUALLY win!!!!

I have had problems getting on the board!!!
ANYWAY, I am a huge Alabama fan, and I married a Vol fan!! She means the world to me, and she and I have mutual respect for our teams. I dress in orange and cheer for Tennessee (as long their not playing Alabama), and she dresses in Crimson and pulls for the Tide (as long as their not playing the Vols).
We have extreme passion for college football, and and go to as many games as possible!!!! Other than that we only fight one day out of the year!!!
You will not hear me trash talk or speak negatively of your team, because I love Alabama and can certainly understand and RESPECT your guys love for Tennessee.
I hope you folks can respect me as well, and I look forward to meaningful conversations with all of you. My wife asked me to do this because since moving down here to Alabama she can't gather much info about her beloveds Vols anymore, and I suggested that I might be able to get some feed back from this sight, as I have been a lurker for years. I really hope for ya'lls sake you could get Spurrier though, I said for years that he would get frustrated at South Carolina and that Shula would be a huge disappointment to Alabama and that we might get him, but it looks like you folks do NEED a new head coach, that's for sure.:)
