Probably Weinke cause like a difference of position coach is going to make that much of a difference with this hot mess lmao

Weinke is the easiest of them to fire. Friend isn't going anywhere but on vacation with Pruitt after signing day. Chaney is competent but handcuffed by a complete fool of a head coach.

Chaney can only call 4 plays with JG under center. If last night showed us anything it’s that Pruitt was actually right. None of the QB’s are better than Guarantano. Bailey being the only hope...

The offense overall and the QB position in particular have been glaringly bad this year so it is obvious who needs to go.

The IT guy in grad school who sets up Pruitts zoom meetings.
Tennessee ran the ball 50 times last night for a paltry 185 yards. That is just a 3.7 yards per carry average. Tennessee's offense is not only bad, it's incredibly boring. We are the epitome of a 3 yards and a cloud of dust attack. We have no playmakers, no excitement and no creativity. This was understandable in 2018 with a first year coach and a sophomore QB under a new system. It shouldn't be acceptable today. Jim Chaney is one of the highest paid offensive coordinators in all of college football. UNREAL.

I think Chaney will get axed at the end of the season and the new OC will be free to bring his own assistants so potentially all the O coaches (except Tee) could be replaced.
It’s really the only move Pruitt can make to have any chance of being the head coach after the 2021 season IMO. I know JG draws the focus of most of the blame but our O woes go beyond the QB.

Ran 50 times for 185 yards...3.7 yds per carry.
That behind an OLine that is nothing but 4 and 5 star recruits...it's time to cut Friend loose.

Told me a lot when you see Trey Smith, supposedly our best, blocking to the outside on every designed edge run play last night... that's some high school level line play.

If I were a betting person, and I’m not, I’d put my money on Pruitt and Chaney being here next year. Weinke is a push.

The solution is fairly simple, yet it won't be executed. If they want to salvage anything for Pruitt at this point, there is a path forward. You fire Weinke and Friend. The offense is turned over exclusively to Chaney, and he is allowed to replace both of those guys with his choice of assistants. Pruitt does not meddle in the offense, other than general strategy of how he wants the game plan to mesh between offense and defense. The defensive line is replaced by someone competent, and Pruitt involves himself a little more in defense, but does not have play calling duties for defense on game days. That belongs exclusively to Ansley. A top flight strength and conditioning coach is hired, and Pruitt focuses nearly exclusively with his remaining time in becoming a leader, manager, and overseer of the team and program with a focus on closing in recruting. They need to find a resource to bring in as a consultant to assist him in that regard, and it does not need to be Phil Fulmer. That's the path, but it's too simple for them to implement and egos will get in the way.

It's not about the QB's floors. It's about finding one of their ceilings.

And how is the offensive line going to look next year, without him? We have some good young talent, but it's hard to see where this offense turns the corner. We are so anemic right now. It's embarrassing to watch. It's like the Clawfense from 2008 married Larry Scott's offense from 2017 and they had a baby - and named it Chaney-fense.

I get it..the offense is putrid.

But Chad from IT has really been letting the entire team down lately so he needs to be the next one to get fired behind Brumbaugh.

This is how Pruit saves his job.

Also this will never happen

Can't like this post enough.

Think there is far too much arrogance between Fulmer and Pruitt to ever see it implemented.

We are once again viewed as a 3-ring circus with Fulmer doing his best P.T. Barnum impression. We are screwed for the foreseeable future.

“I’m excited that this extension gives Jeremy the runway to continue to build on the momentum and energy we have around our football program coming out of last season,” Tennessee athletics director Phillip Fulmer said. "He has made excellent progress entering just his third year and clearly realizes there is much work still to be done. This extension secures him to continue his efforts to return our program to a championship level and shows our commitment to him, his staff, this team and the future of the Tennessee Volunteers.”

Struck me last night when the TV guys talked about Pruitt passing in Kendall Briles as OC because CJP is old school.

That was their veiled way of saying Pruitt is too close minded and controlling to have an OC that understands and can coach today's game.
