Crompton? Fulmer? Clawson?

I believe there is enough talent on this team to do great things, but these past couple of years it's been hard to watch. Tennessee has a good game one week, and the next week they play horrible. I think most of the blame lies on the coaching staff, although Crompton hasn't helped things lately (But that could be the coaching, too, wasn't he like a national top 5 qb out of high school?)

I just don't see how Fulmer continues to get raise after raise only to let us down almost every week. I think we need to make a major change like Bama, Florida, and others have done in recent years.

Without question it's Crompton. Fulmer is going to be the fall guy, but Crompton is sinking the ship.

Chavis and the defense played a good game today. The liability is Crompton, not Fulmer. It's Fulmer's fault for not benching Crompton, but I can understand their logic only being down by 2 points. You want to keep the most experienced guy in the game in hopes that you can get a couple 1st downs and kick a FG for the win.

I don't blame Fulmer at all for today's loss.

I fully blame Fulmer, 100%. It starts with him, not a bunch of kids he is trying to coach.

Crompton and Fulmer. Crompton is awful...which kills UT. However, Fulmer decides to stay with him.

Maybe they are as a team in and as a whole are reading these forums. Watching ESPN and the local news and listing to all the hype! And the associated negativity!

Crompton made the mistakes on the field, but the coach determines who plays and when so the blame goes to coaching.

Get real. Phil lost to Memphis with Peyton Manning at quarterback. UNC's second string QB just beat Miami. Yet UT doesn't have a guy on the roster that can throw for better than 30%. I have a hard time believing that.

Crompton is our biggest liability. Fulmer is second. Clawson is third. All most go.

Fulmer made a living coaching against bad to average coaches with defenses loaded with NFL talent, Peyton Manning as his QB, 2 All Pro running backs, and David Cutcliffe calling plays. Jon Crompton is a player more in line with Fulmer's coaching ability. Now you can see Phil for what he really is.

Fulmer is by far the biggest liability. Other coaches would be 3-1 right now.

it all starts with coaching, If phil can't get the w's then the recruites go elsewhere, so we are stuck with mediocre qb's, and coaching that everbody who we play knows every play months before we even play them.

8-23 for 67 yrds....enough said.. anybody that knows football knows to pull plug on that. spurrier would have pulled him after 2 series.. fulmer needs to pull his head out make that call!! BOTTOM LINE. ITS EMBARRASSING

What hurts the Vols most is the lost to UCLA. It is disapointing, but not surprising, that UT lost to Florida at home and Auburn on the road. Those are two tough hurdles to clear. The loss to an undermanned UCLA, at the beginning of a season ripe with uncertainty, coupled with a loss to UF which was determined before the snooze went off, has clouded any perspective.

Being 1-3 sucks, but there shouldn't have been a lot of people surprised at losses to Gators or Tigers. So I'm blaming Rick Neuiauyeiousheiool and Norm Chow.

When was the last time any of ya'll were proud of this program? When was the last time you felt UT Football could stay on the field with any other team? That isn't Crompton's fault...he just doesn't have anyone who can coach him. Clawson's out of his league and CPF should be flipping burgers somewhere. He would be a lot happier and so would the 105,000 that fill the seats.

crompton has lots of problems for sure. I do however place most of the blame on the coaching staff. Cutcliffe is 3-1 at Duke!!.. I know the competition in the acc isnt the same as in the sec but duke doesnt have the talent UT does either. Duke has won more games this year than they have in the past 2 or 3 years combined. I am not saying Cutcliffe should be the head coach here. It just goes to show that a coach can do good things with less talent.

Worst field position in 2nd half was our 43 yrd line.. 3& out 3&out 3& out 3&out 3&out 3&out 3&out 3 &out.. Execute! Jesus. Sick and tired of bein sick and tired!! Move on and get us back to tennessee football for the love of god!

Would Duke beat UCLA if they played?

Crompton doesn't play with his head, the guy makes bad reads, overthrows receivers, doesn't look the handoff into the running back, one bonehead play after another. I don't know if you lay that totally at the feet of Crompton or not.

I expect a tennessee football team to execute an move the freakin football! Not some moron that throws into coverage and stares at his receivers and then throws it ten yards out of bounds or straight into the dirt! Sit his butt and move on! By far worst qb in tn history!! Would take joey matthews before crompton! He is gettin worse not better and it is obvious

The offensive line is the biggest liability right now.

No pass protection and nothing resembling run blocking. How on earth can you run an offense without a line?
