Just wondering if anyone thinks the firing of Phil Fulmer was a mistake by the Vols Athletic Department?

Only if they whiff on the new hire.

Love Phil and today was a sad day, but it was time.

Only if in 10 years we look back at this as another "Bama" coaching debacle in years to come. I like having a set coach, makes recruiting easy, and lets the systems develop.

I don't want to speculate on that. It may turn out that the AD made a mistake, or it might not. However, what is done is done and there is no point in looking back.

This was a force out, no question. If winning is the only measuring stick then we won't know for another year or so.

Seems you haven't been paying attention to the games.:eek:hmy:
Just trying to be fair. He had them in the conference championship game a year ago.

I just think this situation is very similar to Joe Pa's. Joe Pa was allowed to stay. It worked out well for Penn State, wouldn't you say?

Fulmer was not fired. I can tell you of 6,000,000 reasons why he wasn't. In other words, he was bought out.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

If you don't think he was escorted out you're smoking weed too. If this wasn't abundantly clear when listening to his press conference then, wow, what does it take?

So you believe Fulmer can take us back to a Championship?

I don't like living in the past either, however, I don't have a problem with looking back to 5pm today.

you actually believe that JoePa is the coach and not the figure head? he's nothing more than a figure head at this point

In what universe was it anywhere similar?

Think of the emotions when JoePa and Bowden call it quits. (Of course that is making the assumption that they do)
