Who the Vols should schedule next, OOC

Honestly, areas we recruit from heavily (and want to reinforce that) or even are hoping to establish pipelines in would probably be top priority as far as the program’s concerned, would they not?

Yes, agreed.

On the other hand, that's a lot of trips to Atlanta and Charlotte and Nashville, and we already go all those places pretty frequently (and hopefully we'll be getting to Atlanta even more frequently in coming years, know what I mean? :) )

Really looking forward to the Oklahoma game in 2020 and also the Army game for some reason, different from the regulars we've played lately I guess.

If I had to go another day with only discussing OOC opponents I wish we would play upteen years from now, I might go bananas. If only there was some real football to discuss starting tomorrow. Hot dog there is. TN vs WV. We are about to handle some business.

I’m glad our 1st game is next month aka tomorrow.
agree, but still kinda fun.

Fact is, oklahoma might suck when UT plays them and Pitt and Nebraska may be world beaters. So. Alabama might be like UCF. Who knows. SOS looks one way now, and crappy when the teams actually play.

I'd like to see a home and home against Texas. Honestly, I wouldn't mind one against one of the big three in the Big 10, OSU, Michigan, or PSU. By the time it rolls around we should be back to being able to play with anybody.

I think it would be very advantageous in recruiting to play home and homes with VPI and UVA. There are a lot of good players in the tidewater areas and the areas in around D.C. Playing Carolina and State wouldn't hurt either. There are plenty of good players in the Triangle that continually leave , but they've all been going to UGA, Clemson, FSU and Notre Dame.

So....I'll be that guy.

I wish they'd get rid of OOC games altogether.

I'd like to see us play every team in the SEC every year. I HATE having to wait like 8 years to go play at LSU, or A&M. Like, I think those are awesome experiences, and they just don't come around often in the current setup.

I think bowl games should be the places for OOC games, because then they become WAY more interesting I think. Like imagine if the playoffs were the winners of the SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, and one voted in from the Group of 5. Then, everyone else is matched into bowls. The second place of this conference plays the second place of another conference, and so on and so forth, until eligibility runs out.

I enjoy playing the Oklahomas and Oregons and all of that. But I don't really enjoy playing the UTEPs and Charlottes and whatever. I wanna see where we stand in the SEC this year, and would love to go head to head with everyone every single year, and then go up against someone else in a bowl.

JMO.

Notre Dame, no doubt. Thats one of the most fun trips I've ever taken even got a miracle out of it.

Probably anyone but Notre Dame. With the SEC network, I don't see any advantage to giving an independent a leg up that struggling to adapt to the 21 century. Plus it helps at the end of the year to play a team that plays a conference championship game instead of a self-proclaimed independent champion.

Honestly... I like next year (BYU) and wish we could follow it up with Iowa State, Illinois, and Indiana. When the program gets really healthy again... then let's go after some heavy hitters.

2020 stinks with a road trip to OU with no return trip until 2024 from them... but the next two years vs Pitt sound good.

Anyone else tired of this who should we schedule next in OOC?

Not me. I know that for the foreseeable future the OOC games are going to be one reasonable matchup and three charity benefits for opponents who need help paying the bills. But at least fans can hope for something better.

This! I want UT to play ND as much as possible. For some reason I really dislike that team

Well, if they are gonna do that, we need to make sure we keep the program winning. Guess what I dislike more than ND?

Bingo. LOSING to ND.

I was joking about the Sewanee game, but a game with Tulane and some vintage "throwback" uni's..........like the small block T?

Actually, the "new" uniforms look like bad throwbacks. But why not? Wear a helmet painted to look like a leather one with a clear facemask so it looks like it isn't there!
