Obviously someone’s has to take the fall for this. Is it Currie or Davenport or this Haslems? Many of the national media believe this just made the Vols job very unattractive and it will be hard to hire now.

All this speculation will paralyze the Vols for years UNLESS, our rallying cry gets Currie to stop the Shi!ano hire and, we find a QUALIFIED HC that VN rallies behind. And it does not have to be Gruden. (wait, did I just say that???)

I don't know that anyone will take the fall for this other than Currie and that is the problem. The individuals that created this mess by hiring Currie will still be involved in the next hiring process to replace him.

Should be ALL of the above.

Oh ya, and screw the national media. Don't really give a **** what they think and most coaches could care less either...

Does it really matter? Either way UT will be the perennial bottom dwellers of the SEC for the foreseeable future. UT became "unnattractive" the day it fired a National Championship coach.

Not sure anyone in Admin will actually admit there was a falling, but

A recap of this search's leadership:

"In terms of me, I'm really superfluous in terms of tide and legacies and all that kind of stuff. I understand the enormous responsibility that goes along with leading a process like this. I understand what's at stake." JC

Might a Search Firm have revealed any issues (i.e. WashPost comments), with this Schiano candidacy / plans to hire a search firm:

"Not at this time." JC

And he's probably also still going to stick with this statement:

"... so I will not be making any comments or responses to specific candidates or specific rumors." JC

Well it wont be the rich boosters (haslams) i can tell you that . I think Currie and Davenport both should take the fall but not right away. They should be nothing more than figure heads for their remaining time here and then let go sometime after the first of the year. Maybe we will get lucky and they will just leave. Today was a major screw up in many ways

Is that the same Nat championship coach that quit recruiting and coaching? The same one that made some "great hires" as position and coordinator? That who you're talking about?

No way Currie survives this. He's the most disliked person in Vol nation now. If only we could get Big Jim and his spawn out of there, too.

I would assume the entire Tennessee fan base--that's who deserves to take the fall--we have for ten years now, and we will for a long time in the future.

I don't know what the mouth breathing, hillbilly-ass morons are thinking, but we are the laughingstock of the entire country...and this sure isn't the first time. Mattress burning when a coach leaves, flammable vitriol over a coach that has just been fired, to where he no longer didn't succeed and meet expectations, but became an abusive demon.

Then when a new coach search starts, Petrino can't be considered because his morals aren't high enough, Kiffin can't be considered because his morals aren't high enough.

Then there is Schiano...guy who SOME think could be the answer (not too sure how I feel about that). He won't do because he worked alongside Sandusky, the pervert. Someone said Schiano said he saw something and told other people. Who knows, maybe he told Joe Pa, too. Maybe Joe Pa said, 'don't worry, I'll take care of it'...who knows? To condemn this man based on what has been reported is very wrong and so freaking Knoxville.

Fact is, he left and went to Rutgers--they were cool with him; then he left and went to Tampa--they were cool with him; then he left and went to OSU--they were cool with him; then Tennessee came calling--and the holy ones that police all things right and wrong went crazy.

Yes, the rest of this country laughs at this moronic fan base consistently...and they should. The most delusional fans in America.

Having said all of this, I personally would never have chosen Schiano based only on his coaching record--nothing else.
