Did the basketvols have a successful season or did the inability to advance beyond the sweet sixteen leave a sour taste in anybody's mouth?

I don't know if right now is the best time for me to answer... let me sleep off my anger.

No 1 person was at fault for the drubbing Louisville gave us...we had the worst game of the season at the worst imaginable time

great regular season
horrible tourney play

no blame
but peaked too early and too much empasis all around on winning sec outright.
almost like postseason was afterthought.

31-5, regular season SEC champs, Sweet 16. I'd say that is a pretty successful season. I wish they would have played a better final game, though.

No way you can take anything away from them, but we helped them out on more than one occasion. And wow are they good on fast breaks.

Losing always leaves a sour taste, but I am proud to have made the sweet 16. We beat a very good Butler team and that success cannot be taken away by tonight's loss. One measuring stick of good programs is the streak of sweet 16s. We have two in a row now. If we can continue this success we will sooner or later break into the next level.

I blame Louisville for outplaying us.

I blame playing a Hall of Fame coach who knows a thing or two about running full bore for 40 minutes and never relaxing being on the opposing team's sideline. He seemed to know exactly how to make it struggle.

While I agree with this assesment to a certain degree, after watching the entire basketball game our Volunteers were forced into turnovers that were entirely unnecessary in my opinion. Not just once but over and over. Is that a coaching thing?

Lack of a PG... how many times did J.P. leave his feet then throw a bad pass?
