Who Should Get A Statue?

I think only Neyland should get a full statue in front of the stadium but I think they should make a place in one of the new renovated entrances for some busts kinda like at the NFL HOF in Canton.

It would be cheaper and I think you have to go all the way back to some of the greats that played for Neyland like Gene McEver, Herman Hickman, Beattie Feathers, George Cafego etc..

This was not up when I began my lengthy post and was sidetracked. Busts at each gate with neat descriptions beneath would cost less than statues and still be very neat.

Philip Fulmer:birgits_giggle: (just kidding)

You laugh but in time he would be added to the list. Time heals all wounds and people will call for him to be added and I think he would get a statue/ Like it or not, deserved or not he would get one.

Neyland, Manning, Ward, Smokey, White and Layla....

Seriously though, a really cool statue of the original Smokey howling would be pretty awesome!

Reggie White, Peyton Manning, Gen Neyland. I loved and listened to John Ward but not sure about the statue. I also think Johnny Majors should have one as a player. I like the idea.

WR: Pickens, Stallworth, Kent

i vote all the players whose numbers have been retired

and General Neyland

If it didn't end up costing way too much, I would do a missing man sort of memorial for the 4 guys who died during WW2... they are all on offense, so just have the single wing formation with all the players but them included. and memorial plaques where they would be standing. You would need two at FB, but that's not a problem when you are already building an 8 part sculpture.

I would say Phil.....but they'd have to remove a Smokey Mountain just to get enough rock. I'd prefer to keep the scenery.

It took longer than I expected but I knew this post was coming...classy...

I assume you played OL in the SEC and are now reaping the rewards of the nutrisystem diet?

Gen. Neyland kneeling, Doug Atkins, & a statue of the 4 WWII vets in their service uniforms & John Ward. Those are the ones I would start with.

There should be a Rod Wilks statue placed in the center of the opposing teams locker room with the words "And in the 4th quarter he rested" carved on the base.
