From the looks of the results of the poll, noone really thought we were a top football program prior to the game tonight. After tonight, I realize we're not even a top 25 program anymore. So sad to see this once great program destroyed.

Neither will Dan Hawkins. Think he'd leave next year when his son is his starting quarterback for the next two years?

I don't care if it's Cowher, but we need someone who is a proven winner that brings immediate respect, like Saban did at Alabama.

I can't stand Saban, but someone like him would be required.

If we have someone that wouldn't be tempted to bolt for the NFL... That's why I'd be in favor of Cowher. Like Pete Carroll, whose been to that mountain top, and would want to coach because he can teach young men and his love for the game, and not have to deal with money grabbing egos.

Of course this assumes that our head coach will be replaced, but just for fun. Who would you hire?

Please state your coach and why you would hire him. Please try to keep it in the realm of possibility.

Edit: I must be depressed from the game, because all of the sudden I can't spell.

Myself...if I were MH

Butch Davis is an interesting plausibility, but his contract buyout would be enormous. He signed a huge deal to go to UNC.

I wish Sylvester Croom was working out at MSU because I love his attitude and he's an honorable guy.

I think part of the reason he's not winning is because it's impossible to win there if you're not corrupt like Sherrill.

I wouldn't want to risk it though on someone who wasn't proven. And Croom hasn't proven that he can win.

i think its just a way to keep the fans interrested... We all know Phil is old and washed up as far as football goes the times have changed and the SEC has become the powerhouse in NCAA football, Basketball.... In order for the rest of the Country to see the greatness of the SEC, we cant lose to teams like UCLA and CAL.... COME on... the VOLS have always been a good team in college football... but the past few yrs it hasnt shown... the inside SEC teams and rivalries are always gonna be great goin either way... but we have to get into the new era... and Phil has to go in order for this team to be successfull in the next few yrs... who knows maybe Cutcliffe will come be HC when Fulmer leaves... the coaching staff needs to be looked at quickly.... im still a huge VOLS fan... i just think adjustments are needed...

The question was if you were Mike Hamilton? If I was him I would not want to fire fulmer, but if I had to, knowing Hamilton it would be someone like Randy Sanders, Cutcliffe, or Chavis.

My Top 5 Coaching prospects:

5) Trooper Taylor (Look at what he has already done at OSU's offense)
4) Pat Hill (Always in the mix at Fresno State)
3) Terry Bowden (Actually has had success in the NCAA, cheap and would come.)
2) Bronco Mendenhall (Just based on the perfomance of their team today.)
1) Bob Stoops (Look at what he has done at oklahoma, maybe would come to the SEC.)

Croom already has one of the best recruiting classes for next year in the SEC

I hate to be ignorant, but why other than money would you leave any job you had to coach at UT now?

Trooper Taylor isn't even calling plays for OSU and why would Bob Stoops leave a powerhouse program like Oklahoma just to coach in the SEC

I've heard Trooper isn't calling that many plays at all this year

I wouldn't mind Chris Peterson. He's been impressive.

I honestly doubt Lane Kiffin comes here... If he does I would be on board.

If money is everything, then maybe we can bring in the riverboat gambler.

Terry Bowden will never coach another day in the SEC after what he admitted to a few years ago. It's why he's not even on TV anymore. He's been disgraced. We might as well hire DuBose or Franchione.

Butch Davis is the one who had to clean up the mess when the Canes got in trouble in the 90s.

Which he inherited from Dennis Erickson, who has left every school on probation.

If you want to see something shocking, look at Idaho's arrest record from his one year there. There was some crazy stuff going on out there!
