Who really has the Pressure in The Swamp????

All the pressure is on fla. Their supposed to win big, gonna look stupid if they don`t!!!

Then they must have been really pressured during the Troy and Charleston Southern games.

When going all out for the SEC Championship, a win is a win is a win.

Even with a 1 point win, they'll be focused on the next game the very next day. Only the fans care about the spread.

if it was a joke why did he say it was an extremely calculated move to somehow turn the recruiting world upside down and get everyone talking about UT? Why didn't he just come out and say he was joking?

he changes his story more often than I change my socks.

He did. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

IMO it's on Florida. They are FAVORED AND EXPECTED by the national media to walk all over us. As long as we put up a good fight and keep it close, it makes us look good and them overconfident . . . better yet, OVERRATED.

Enlighten me then.

Did he have his fingers crossed or something?

He said what he said, which is UT will beat UF in Gainesville, at which point he and all the Vol fans there would sing Rocky Top all night long.

Whether he woos or not is up for debate....his comments aren't.

People seriously listed the rest of the quote about 4 times before you replied, and you still don't get it?

While I agree there isn't a lot of pressure on UT to win since no one is expecting them to, I'm not really buying that Florida has all this pressure on them and that it's going to make them make mistakes and all this. This "pressure" is a lot of manufactured hope in the minds of UT fans.

I get that he said Hamilton told him to say that, but at that point the genie is out of the bottle.

He said what he said.

According to Kiffin UT will beat UF this weekend.

Here's the whole quote you Florida d-bags.

"I'm really looking forward to embracing some of the great traditions at the University of Tennessee, for instance the Vol Walk, running through the T, singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida next year," Kiffin said back on Dec. 1, 2008. "It will be a blast.
"That line was (AD Mike Hamilton's) idea, by the way; all right, Urban?"

It lightened the mood perhaps, but it didn't change the message.

He wanted to show that he already had a handle on Tennessee traditions (Rocky Top, hating Florida, etc.) in his first press conference. If he was really intending to put Florida on notice, the next sentence would never have been said. Anyone that isn't a Florida drama queen can see that.

Neither did Kiffin's comments considering the team UF had coming back.

Do you deny he predicted a UT victory? What else could he have possibly meant?

How can all the pressure be on Tenn, when everyone including my dead grandmother is predicting a florida blowout.... It may happen... I don't know? ....that is why they play the game, but all Tenn has to do is show up and have fun and keep it close and Florida looks like the loser. By the way.. what about all the predictions coming out of Florida locker room? :eek:lol:

I don't believe that pressure on either side will produce a win or loose, as this is Big time SEC and every game is played under pressure

Take it anyway you want. To everyone back in December it was a joke and to everyone around here it's still a joke.

If you guys need the motivation that bad then have fun distorting every quote by our head coach anyway you see fit. More power to you.

Right...don't they teach reading and comprehension skils to UF fans?? what about context clues??

Seriously, go WATCH the presser...he even chuckled as he said it...If you have an issue with CLK's comments - such as the cheater thing - that is undersatndalbe but simply ommiting all or parts of the quote to fit your agenda makes you the one with the problem.

but I guess if your crowd and team need that much motivation for the game then so be it. :banghead2:

yea, this pisses me off too. It is completely taken out of context. Any moron can understand that things can have different meanings by the way they are said and the context in which they are said.

He did say it in a joking manner and said Mike Hamilton told him to say that. He knows the talent at Florida and was no way predicting a win against them in the first year (which kiffin himself has said is one of maybe a couple of rebuilding years). Again, He was saying it in a joking way and reiterated that with the Mike Hamilton comment. I understand why the media doesn't include that, but you would think that people that would get on a message board and try to argue it would be more informed.

With the whole quote there wouldn't be a story. Sound bites cause drama. For more examples, tune into FOXNews... eerrrr .... FeauxNews any night of your choosing.
I can't believe I just read that. Um, you telling me that CNN, MSNBC, all of the national news services and NPR are anything other than lap dogs for the Obama administration. Heck, Charles Gibson said yesterday that he "hadn't heard anything" about the ACORN prostitutegate. What a joke. You think Bob Beckel is feaux? It amazes me that a network that in almost every commentary program has representation of both sides can be willcalled that. The problem is anyone left of center seems to want everyone that is not 100% lockstep with them discredited and completely muted. Both sides being heard reveals the inconsistancy and error of one side or the other and that will be one side of evry argument. "Big Tent" my arse!!! <merge to political forum> LOL

Oh yes! Those stations are JUST as bad. FOX doesn't have a monopoly on it. My intention wasn't to strike a nerve in you - you're clearly passionate about what you believe in the world. Let's stick to football here? We're all united when it comes to the Vols.

The quote is interpreted differently in Tennessee than it is outside of Tennessee.

Man seriously..not gonna argue with ya.. but watch the press conference in its entirety. Does not take a genius or a bright guy to understand the way he said it. I would admit it if it was otherwise and some of Kiffin's comments I think have not been good. This however, was not one of them.
