Who looks like they will be our QB?

Clawson has said he is evaluating all 3 with the starters...so, it's supposedly an "open" race. however, I would imagine, in typical Fulmer fashion, that Crompton will start the first game regardless (remember Joey Matthews?)

I agree with Justin. I have said Crompton from the start. He is very talented and will be the QB for 2008.

wow, hard to believe since some people on here were ready to annoint BJ the second coming of Peyton just because he watches film.

B.J. might be better than Crompton when B.J. is a junior. But right now it's not as close as everyone is making it out to be.

Crompton hands down.

2 years from now, when Crompton is graduated, Coleman will have his day. B.J. is an extremely talented kid with tremendous work ethic. Crompton is just a little older and better right now.

I would have to say it will definately be Crompton now with the moving of the UCLA game. Fulmer stated that part of the reason he was ok with moving that game to the opener is because their QB had experience in the SEC already. That would rule out Coleman and Stephens.

Crompton will be the QB even past the UCLA game. He will be UT's QB for the next two years as long as he doesn't suffer any significant injuries. This is not a knock on Coleman. Very talented, mature, smart, great work ethic. He will get his chance in two years. Right now he is not ready, Crompton is. He has been waiting for this day for 3 years and I don't think he will disappoint.

I hionestly believe that Crompton will be a much better leader than Ainge. Not a knock on Ainge, but he seemed very passive.

It will be Crompton. I have no doubt about that. He will be a pretty solid player- it will be nice to have someone who is somewhat mobile.

Cromptons been patiently waiting to take the helm, you can almost gurrantee that he will be starting every game this season pending a injury.

I too am encouraged how JC has stepped up into a leadership role, from the Iviews I hear , it appears to be more of a vocal guy in the locker-room. BJ will get his time but might have to wait a few years like JC did

Actually, I think Jon and BJ bring great leadership skills to the table. The starter will be the guy who best knows what he's doing and why out there on the field.

That is Jon right now. But I'll be damned if I'll take anything away from BJ.... I really really like the guy.

(yep, two ' really's '...:))

Yeah I like him too, but it will be two years before you get to see him play a whole lot. Crompton is the man for the next two years if he stays healthy. Then Coleman can have his two years in the spotlight. That is actually a good thing for UT football. I think both these guys are going to bring a lot to the table!

Who is #2 on the depth chart?

The Pre-Spring Practice Depth Chart has Stephens at #2 (with an OR beside his name), and I've read on here that Coleman is struggling with fundamentals.

I think that is the bigger question. Who will be the #2 QB. I have no clue about that one. I am confident in saying Crompton will be the #1 QB without doubt. #2, now that is a different question......
I would have said Coleman before spring, but I have heard the same reports about him struggling with fundamentals.

I agree he will be a better leader. I remember when Cutcliffe came here he had to get Ainge to dial it down a notch.

Not If the others play better, and since NO ONE knows, its an open race in my mind.

I think it will be Crompton, but it's just nice that we don't have to rely on an incoming freshman to be our starter like the past eight years with Casey Clausen and Ainge.

Hopefully this season will turn out like the last time we had a first time starting junior QB open the season.
