Who is your "off the radar" coach to come to Tennessee?

I may be an idiot but is that Mike Singletary?
Yes, it's THE Mike Singletary. If he could come maybe he could bring his old Bears teammate Brian Cabral as a Def. Coord. He's been at Colorado as the LB coach for like 20 years or so. He's also an excellent recruiter and in my opinion would be a huge upgrade over Chavis. Of course he is a CU alum so he might not be interested in leaving.

How about Dennis Green as the next Vols coach? At least we would have some interesting and passionate pressers.

BYU's coach. I don't even know his name. Or Boise States's. I don't know his name either (though I probably should).

Steve Sarkisian the Assistant Head Coach/Offense Coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the USC Trojans. He is 34 yrs old and would get us a connection to the west coast talent to come play in the premier SEC

I knew Pearl was going to be great from day one! Like Bruce Pearl, when Pearl was at Milwaukee. Patterson is doing an awesome job with far less talent than UT. His recruiting classes are mainly in the 30-80 range in the nation. Patterson has to recruit against Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and LSU. All these schools are within a 7 hour drive of Fort Worth.

Oklahoma got almost half of their offensive yard total in the first quarter. TCU made adjustments and held them to 200 yards in three quarters. Oklahoma averages 164 yards per game on the ground. TCU held them to 25 yards for a .7 yard per carry average! TCU ran for 102 yards versus the Sooners for a 2.9 yard average.

Consider this, Patterson's team kicked BYUs tail. TCU has much less talent on paper than us. Chavis would have went to the ' mustang ' all day versus BYU. We lose to BYU with much more talent than TCU!!! TCU holds BYU to 26 pts below their season average. Remember, they scored 59 versus UCLA.

Below is what Patterson's defense did versus BYU.

Rush Yds avg TD long
28 23 0.8 1 13

pass yards avg TD int
22/42 274 6.5 0 2

Can you imagine what Patterson could do with our defense? Great defensive and offensive lines win championships. TCU is 1st in the NCCA with only 21 yards allowed on the ground. While the offense rushes for 233 yards per game which is 11th in the nation.

No, TCU doesn't play the caliber of teams we play. But, they don't have the caliber of players we have either. It all comes down to fundamentals and schemes. Patterson would win a few National Titles with the talent we get. :yahoo:

Everyone thinks Fulmer is one of the few who can recruit great out of state talent, BS. Did you know? Fulmer was 0-9 versus Florida in the last recruiting class. He was 2-15 versus Bama. And, Fulmer let our best two in state prospects land in Bama. Fulmer is washed up in all aspects of coaching!!!!!!!

if doing comparisons, which at a non bcs school is all you can do

Beat Navy by 12, Navy beat Wake Forest at Wake who beat Ole Miss who beat Florida

Beat Western Kentucky by 17 at WKU, who lost to Va Tech by 10 at Va Tech.

Granted Michigan sucks but they lost to Toledo 13-10 at home, while BSU beat Toledo 31-0 at Toledo

Not afraid to play big name teams as they almost knocked of Michigan and Nebraska the last two years.

Following the debacle called Bill Lynch he has brought them a long way.

Was in the final 3 at Michigan before Rich Rodreguiz was hired.

OH MY GOSH, I agree with YORKTOWN PATRIOT.....everyone may not know this, but as he stated they almost beat Nebraska and Michigan. Sign me up and send the VASF form to my house, if every year we could beat past non-powerhouse schools, and almost beat Ole Miss and South Carolina, then I would look forward to every season...

Obviousl yorktown you have this confused with the Kentucky or MSU board, we would never be impressed with "ALMOST" wins!
