yeah, we've heard Kiffin, Butch Davis and so on, but who are some guys that have done great jobs at other school that nobody is talking about?

mine.

Mark Dantonio of Michigan State. His defenses at Ohio State were great and won them the 2002 championship against a high powered Miami offense. Helped get Cincy back on the right track and then left for Michigan State where he's 6-1 this year. He's arguably one of the best defensive coaches in the nation, I think he could be a good guy for the job, but I think it's doubtful his name is even mentioned

Dennis Franchonie. He did a "great job" of running TAMU football into the ground.

Dave Clawson is pretty off the radar right now.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I like Patterson and Dantonio.

I think Kelly is a good coach that is reaping the benefits of following Dantonio.

This name has been tossed around some but not as much as others, Brent Venables.

What makes you think that? Kelly came from Division 2 powerhouse Grand Valley State that may as well be D1 and is going soon. He's a winner.

Venables is in my top 3 or 4. Dude would have us playing some damn defensive ball.

I don't think he's awful. I think he's pretty damn good but Dantonio laid the groundwork for that program to be successful and Kelly was able to work with a great foundation already built.

Which is kinda what we got going here. We have a lot of talent we just need a coach who can take the talent we have an use it!
But I like Dantonio too....

True.

I'm not saying he's not a good coach but Dantonio should get props for Cincinnati too.
