florida's the modern rival
alabama's the traditional rival

the rivalry with the tide has been picking up more the last few years though, especially since they broke the streak and started beating us again.

alabama, ut doesn't have a true rivalry that both would claim. let me explain: while most would say alabama, alabama doesn't feel ut is their biggest rival for them it is auburn. florida has florida state or georgia. georgia has georgia tech and ut will never say vandy is their biggest rival while vandy would say ut is theirs.

with that said, i hate florida with a passion and tolerate bama...but i am also 41. i think the younger crowd would say florida is the biggest while the older crowd would say bama.

alabama for sure. in the 90s, florida took a rivalry edge, but it has always been alabama hands down....

i sometimes cheer for florida....i NEVER cheer for bama. even if they are playing a team outside the sec.

I dislike UF but I hate Bama...the dirtiest program EVER...I will hate Bama until the day after I'm dead & buried and if there is a heaven I'll hate them for an eternity.

Back in the day a couple of us would drive down to the 31 Blue Spot in Ardmore have a few beers then drive across the line into AL just to piss. It was about a 120 miles round trip for us. But I wouldn't walk across the road to piss on UF...GA maybe..even Auburn but not UF.

If UF beats us 11 years in a row then check back with me.

I hope the entire city of Gainesville gets hepatitis! Except for the brave Vol fan that lives in the crappy town, get out while you still have a soul.

When did John Becksvoort graduate? ....

John Becksvoort
1993
Placekicker
Chattanooga

John Becksvoort was automatic for Tennessee as a four-year starter, earning All-America status his junior year and setting records with his unique kicking style.

It was his junior year of 1993 when Becksvoort hit 59-of-59 extra-point attempts to set Southeastern Conference and Tennessee records. He made 12-of-13 field goals and led the league in scoring with 95 points, averaging 8.6 points per game.

Becksvoort wrapped up his career as one of Tennessee's most accurate kickers. He was a perfect 161-of-161 on extra-point attempts, setting an NCAA record for consecutive PATs.

It really depends on your age. I'm 23 and my earliest vivid memories of UT football come from the Head Ball Coach, "You can't spell Citrus with UT." I was 13ish when Wilhoit made that kick to beat Florida, making way for the 1998 BCS National Championship. UT v. FL is for the division crown almost every year (with a couple of exceptions). A hate for 'Bama is ingrained us in us young bloods, but for us Florida is the biggest, most important game every year.

Jeff Hall just said, "WTF!!"

Probably Florida. Actually, the only reason I say that is because it's the way Alabama treats us. Our rivalry with them has more traditional history than Auburn, but they hate AU worse (Actually, they hate us probably worse for Fulmer, but they live to beat the barn moreso than us) At least when Fulmer was in his prime, we could count on them being on probation and pissed at us for kicking their @ss every year.

I'm pullin for you to get us back there lane.

I hate both so bad it was hard watching the championship game. I can't remember a game I wanted to see but wanted both teams to loose ok maybe last year. This is getting old we need some orange in next year's game so I won't have that problem

I'd say Bama or Florida or UGA in any given season. Simply because when you are on a losing streak to any one of these three, it doesn't get any worse (well with the exception of a loss to Vandy).
