I guess i'm wrong, but thought an offensive penalty with no timeouts would end the game. Or clock would have to start immediately when ball was placed. Why would a team worry about getting lined up ever if they just needed a field goal and weren't lined up. Just hike the ball to the qb with the whole damn team on the field. Oh well.

Take your pick, man. Lots to go around.

I don't want to hear any more about us being young with no depth, etc. We lost tonight because: (1) we couldn't convert a _____ extra point, (2) we couldn't seem to NOT commit a huge personal foul whenever there was a big play, and (3) we couldn't avoid throwing an interception at a THE MOST critical point in the game.

That being said, Bray is going to be huge in the next few years. It doesn't make this suck any worse that it already does, but . . . oh well, if I don't find something positive, I'm going to die.

That penalty on Jackson made me want to smash my head in with a hammer. I love the kid, and I know we wouldn't have been in position to win this game without his play, but for the love of God!!!! . . . does anyone coach players to wrap up on tackles anymore?

When we missed the extra point, I said to my wife, "That's going to come back and bite us tonight." I wish I had been full of crap, but (again) oh, well . . .

There was some bad officiating, but it was pretty even overall. That's the only thing that I'd say doesn't deserve blame for this pathetic outcome. I am sick of tuning in to our bowl games and coming away incredibly disappointed. I know I am talking out of complete depression right now (and I'll get over it in a day or so), but I'd rather us to mail in a note saying, "Dear Music City Bowl: We plan on giving this game away in the final moments, so we won't bother making the trip to Nashville. Sincerely, UT." I'd rather get blown out than lose by handing things over to the other team like a bunch of lame, undisciplined, bush-league scrubs. This was P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C. No way around it.

God, I love Tennessee football, but this is taking years off my life. The sight of Bray tearing up on the sideline at the end gives me hope that this will serve as a building block for the future, but I'm sick of watch us lose in the most pathetic manner imaginable and then saying (like a Cubs fan), "Wait till next year."

This sucks. Not much more to say. Sorry for the rant. I guess this is therapy for me.

In order of blame:

Lincoln (and coach for sticking with Lincoln) He just isn't a kicker. why have we tried to keep him as a kicker....

Chaney and offense (terrible play calling and half hearted dancing up the middle trying
to run out the clock when UNC had timeouts left)

Jackson

Bray

outside the issed extra point, this was critical...
we should be able to get a first down to run out the clock, poor play calling

The coaches executed their scheme to a "T". UNC had to go 60 yards in 30 seconds with no timeouts to get into position to score, but the players did not execute. Lincoln missed a PAT and the defense blew the coverage on the long pass with 30 seconds left. Pretty simple.

um Daniel Lincoln is the one to blame

The coach should have given him the "boot" a long time ago. Hell, my granny can kick better than that and she's been dead for forty years! I would like to know who called that piccolo player a kicker.
