From Wiki...

Coach Kelly was named Cincinnati's head coach on December 3, 2006, following the departure of Mark Dantonio. Both Cincinnati and Central Michigan were preparing for bowl appearances so while Kelly was in Cincinnati preparing the Bearcats, much of his staff remained at Central Michigan to coach the Chippewas. Following Central Michigan's win in the Motor City Bowl most of his staff joined him in Cincinnati where they went on to coach Cincinnati to a victory over Western Michigan University in that year's International Bowl, 27-24. Entering the 2007 college football season, Coach Kelly is 1-0 in a partial season at Cincinnati.

Coach Kelly had to suspend an unnamed player during the off-season in the Spring of 2007 because of lying, a violation of school ethics.

So within 5 years he might win the Big East title? Wow, that is impressive..

Prior to last year, the Bearcats were under hibernation. He'll have Cincinnati contending on a yearly basis in the Big East.

If Brian Kelly was ever offered the reigns of Tennessee football, it would be like handing Hitler a hydrogen bomb back in World War II.

Gruden will be fired be year's end. If we lose more than 4 games Fulmer is out. I do not think we will but if we do then he has lost his edge and a change is needed. Gruden will have no trouble recruiting and he will bring NFL caliber coordinators. I think this is all fantasy land because I see 9-3 as the farthest we falter.

Are you putting money on that prediction of 9-3?

I would take a peice of that action.9-3 sounds pretty good after what i saw last week.I'd say the vegas odds would be good if you took 9-3.But i wouldn't put much money one it.Because you likely wouldn't be getting it back.

Brian Kelly was at Central Michigan and turned them into the best MAC program, at least battling with Northern Illinois. CMU won the MAC in 2006. He's at Cincinnati, which Mark Dantonio brought to respectability.

Either of those coaches would do well in Knoxville.

I will not watch UT FB anymore if that happens.

That would be so depressing.

Cutcliffe and Chavis have paid their dues here, but if they are named replacements for Fulmer, I would not be pleased. I'll leave it at that.

I like the guy and I think he could do well at most schools. Unfortunately, I think UT's next hire needs to be elite. By elite I mean someone that can consistently compete with Urban Meyer and Nick Saban. I'm not sure I'd put Brian Kelly in that category at this point.
