Who is the most respected person at UT.....

Maybe Chavis got a few whispers, but that is about it.

Why would you mention this? Two NFL teams, one being the Panthers, have spoken with Chavis. He's a UT grad, so it would have to be a head coaching position for him to likely leave. I think he has honestly been passed over for head coaching jobs, but I'm not complaining. The d has been good under Chavis, and the 2005 was one of his two best, spending most of the game on the field, yet still kept some game competitive. And Brooks has "coached up" many DT's and a Jon Brown & Will Overstreet still owe coach Caldwell for their repective draft positions/NFL contracts.

He's the only position coach this decade to actually "coach up" his position players. He's also one of the very few to get offers from other schools this decade that I can recall. Maybe Chavis got a few whispers, but that is about it.

There are a lot of guys in the NFL right now who owe their careers to Dan Brooks.

Hasn't Chavis already turned down offers to be a position coach in the NFL? So has Brooks I believe.
