Well, their age doesn’t seem to have negatively impacted their performance does it? There’s something to be said for experience, maturity and competence. Do you believe that age always contributes to a decline in professional performance.

Are you saying that if Saban and Belichik took another job tomorrow, they wouldn’t be qualified because of their age?

Saban won a NC at LSU and was widely respected as one of the best in the business. Then he turned Bama around in a heartbeat, so the day he came back he was essentially already the best in the business - only Pete Carroll could've rivaled him if he stayed in CFB.

The game has passed Miles by. He isn't Richt who was passed over for one of the brightest and most dominant coordinators in all of CFB. Miles was fired for a guy who struggles with basic sentences but is a tireless recruiter. The only guy who has done so little with so much talent is Phil Fulmer, Al Golden and Botch Jones. Look at how many players from the NFL came from LSU; they are leading all programs, including Bama.

If that isn't a wake up call I don't know what is. Miles had all the pieces for YEARS but could never attract a top tier QB. Why? Because he remained extremely stubborn about his offense and refused adapting; meanwhile guys like Saban, Belichick are the best in the business for a reason: because they evolve and adapt. Les Miles stopped evolving his offense 10 years ago hence the reason NO MAJOR P5 wants him. Not a single program except this dumpster fire of a program.

Your posts have recently taken a significant nose dive in relativity and informative content.

If age didn't contribute to a decline in performance why did Fulmer and Miles get fired from Tennessee and LSU respectfully.

Two coaches who won national championships were fired by schools where they won them. Why?

Did they forget how to coach?

Would actually suggest Dabo as a better coach than Saban, though uses the same tactics. I think an argument could be made for Petersen as the best actual 'coach'.

David Cutcliffe was always a linchpin in Fulmer’s staff. He left Tennessee for the Duke job in 2007.

(If I remember correctly. Those who remember, please feel free to clarify any incorrect info I’ve posted)

After Cut left, Fulmer dialed into a new OC he wanted to hire. He ran a similar offense as Fulmer’s. Based on stories from the press and insiders, Mike Hamilton wanted Fulmer to look for a more innovative coordinator and recommended Dave Clawson. Fulmer succumbed and hired Clawson, which eventually turned out to be a disaster.

Clausen ran an offensive system that utilized totally different and unconventional blocking schemes. There was confusion, the players didn’t buy in, and truth be told.. Fulmer didn’t buy in either. Fulmer basically gave up on the new system at mid-year and took over the offensive again. Clawson was devastated. The offense went off the rails. The team folded and Fulmer was terminated.

Can’t speak for Miles.
