Who is the best NFL and best NCAA coach?

I don't take Saban as the best NCAA coach. He surrounds himself with excellent coordinators, but has made several questionable in-game calls. Would actually suggest Dabo as a better coach than Saban, though uses the same tactics. I think an argument could be made for Petersen as the best actual 'coach'.

What's the point of this thread

It’s been speculated that Miles is under consideration for the HC job. I asked why Miles wasn’t being considered. Several posters have stated in various threads that Miles is too old. The two best coaches in football are older than Miles.

Also - same argument could probably be made for Pete Carroll in the NFL.

What he did at USC and now Seattle is pretty remarkable.

So you are comparing Miles to those 2 hall of famers?
How old was Saben when he took Bama job?
If were gonna lose I wanna see points Miles is old school that wouldn't fit in TN. Recruiting is much harder here

I would argue that Dabo will give Saban a run. As of late he is as consistent as Saban without the #1 recruiting class every year.. JMO

How about;

Bill Belichik - He’s 65 years old

Nick Saban - He’s 66 years old

Saban was in his mid 50s when Bama was in the gutter and Belechik was in his late 40s when NE was in the gutter. It's a little different coaching a powerhouse than rebuilding a 0-8 SEC team that has had awful coaching the past couple of years....

Given what Saban has done at LSU and Bama, he's got an argument as the best coach EVER in college football.

Kiffin will be the best NCAA coach when he comes to Tennessee and begins beating Saban and Smart on a regular basis. Throw in a national championship in 3 years. Once Saban retires, he will be the man. JMO.

When he can win big without talent, then he deserves that. Wasn't that great without the great talent

Dumbest post I've ever seen. NOBODY wins big without talent. Not one team ever one a title, in ANY sport without talent.

Amazing rationale......Who do you think recruited that talent? Do you think the talent Saban had just fell out of the sky? In the years prior to Saban going to Bama, we were beating them like a red-headed step child. Their cupboard was bare. It only took Saban 2 years to stock up with championship ammunition.

Apples to oranges.

Belichek was 48 years old when the Patriots hired him.

Saban was 55 when Alabama hired him.

Marv Levy was hired by the Buffalo Bills when he was 61. That's the closest comparison.

I looked it up and I can't find Tennessee hiring a coach over the age of 45 and I went back to Neyland.
