but for the life of me, i'm still trying to figure out how or why we have a TE coach on staff?:whistling:[/QUOTE]

Are you saying we don't need a specific coach to work with the one position we rely on, depend on, have built our program around?

With the exception of the last two seasons, the defensive line has been the strength of this program for a decade.
 exactly. i don't understand where this whole "weve been bad there forever" mentality is coming from. the D as a whole has been solid for several years, until the last two.

short memories i guess.

In 05, I think several people were hoping Dale Jones would replace Caldwell as DE/Special Teams coach.

I think he would have been a good hire. Appalachian St has a good program.

I just get mad b/c I cannot remember the last time we had a punt return or a kick off return for a TD. Dont really have the electrifying returner.

Fulmer should take over the O-line. That is one problem right there. That frees up room for adding another coach and you stay within the NCAA limit.

Agreed, Fulmer takes over OL and hires an effing ST coach.

I was being sarcastic about needing a Tight Ends coach...what a joke!
Of course Fulmer should coach the o-line and get us a special teams coach...in other news, water is wet.

I didn't mention needing a TE coach. Part of another person's quote got caught in my post.

somebody coached them up for s miss

I don't know that the kickoff coverage was that much better. It's just that So Miss didn't have nearly the speed that Cal had.

We did do a great job of kicking it high and forcing fair catches. The kicking part of it seems to be in good shape.

It has nothing to do with "feeling the need".

A lot of schools don't have dedicated Special Teams coaches due to NCAA rules that lmit the number of coaches.
If it has nothing to do with feeling the need, why in heavens name would a division 1a coach decide to coach special teams by committe if he already had multiple seasons of shall we say less than desired results on paper?
