I think 3000 of my posts were pre-like era... and then I went on extinct for most part of dooley era... just like our football team...

I think Butch Jones would be a great hire. maybe not a homerun per se but the guy took Central Michigan into the top 25 and after a rough first season at Cincy has won big the last two years.

Tennessee will not hire someone that doesn't have successful HEAD coaching experience!! Just can not afford another chance on someone that might become a good coach.

Gruden could shoot the Vols down at any point and he hasn't. He also could have taken a lot of pro jobs before now and he hasn't. In the end I believe the family part of this wins out!! GRUDEN

I agree...but they will not get Gruden...once you have success in the NFL they usually never come back to college...money, money, money..

As you all know...tennessee cannot afford to get into a bidding war to get a top shelf coach...unfortunately......

So that leaves what...MAC and WAC coaches?? Sun Belt coaches?? Conference USA coaches?? Unless Dave Hart is a magician and snags a big name...gonna be hard pressed to get a GOOD coach that will take over this disaster...

The next coach of our Vols has to be the guy to get it done....another hire like Dooley or Kiffin and the next 3-5 years of Tennessee football will be doomed...

Cutcliffe would be a good choice..if Gruden turns out to be a no go....Cutcliffe is a proven tennessee man....and could make a positive change...

Hoping for Strong. If Smart comes here, I'm done. I'm sick of Bama boys comin here! I'll get grilled for this, but if you want a Bama coach get Saban.
