I know practices are closed, but I thought this might be mentioned somewhere. Who is running with the first team OL? I figured we might platoon some guys, but for the most part I would imagine we have a certain rotation. Please share any info for a starving football fan.

I thought I would pose this question as I haven't seen anything about it (or at least couldn't find anything about it). Of course if any of you have it would be great to have a link. Please discuss and if you'd like to make predictions that would be just as good.

UT looking for opening line GoVolsXtra

"Yet a top five seems to be emerging with sophomore Dallas Thomas at left tackle, redshirt freshman JerQuari Schofield at left guard, senior/converted defensive lineman Victor Thomas at center, senior Jarrod Shaw and freshman Ja'Wuan James at right tackle." :hi:

I like this o-line and I do think that we will have a very good upcoming good season

I can live with that...just need to build some depth

Don't know that Stone will start, but I would be willing to bet he'll be the 6th man if you will. Last guy out of the starting line up, first guy off the bench. He's a beast of a kid.

I like that lineup. But I like what D. Thomas said. "We won't be this teams weak-link."

These guys have heart and determination and will impress come fall. I think CHH is going to do wonders with the O-line.

Also, what about Zach Fulton? Isn't he supposed to be a beast at OG?

Our line is gonna be alot better than people think we have some pretty decent backups too this line is better than last years imho everyone forgets we started two walkons that were both 6'2 and like 250

Bet Stone will start come fall

Stone won't be a starter. It would have helped had be been an early enrollee, but even then it would have been unlikely. He will be a good player for us, but not quite ready yet. Stone and Fulton will both end up contributing though. As thin as we are on the OL, I seriously doubt there will be any OL red-shirts this year.

Couldn't agree more execpt that Pair might redshirt...but with recent events that isn't even certain...

Stone, Fulton, and Pair will get their shots come fall camp...whereas in a normal year they would all redshirt

They had also spent 4 or 5 years in a college program. Anytime you are projected to start a true FR and have a few others in your 2 deep, you're REALLY hurting. I can understand the optimism...I'm a Vol fan too...but I can see that we're probably going to struggle early up front. Our starters aren't currently SEC caliber starters. Sad, but true...

We really cannot redshirt anybody

It wouldn't seem so but Pair has to get alot bigger before he can play. My guess at this point is that a rotation of James, Thomas, Shaw, Thomas, Schofield, Pope, Hood, and either Revis, Stone, or Fulton.

I think either Stone or Fulton along with Pair could RS.

I agree. To add to your point, though, I think that injuries and attrition throughout the year may come into play as well. It may be that we manage to stay fairly healthy and we get to redshirt an extra guy.
