the true passion behind a rivalry is having to live amongst the enemy.

i saw a post earlier that had florida's rivals ranked as 1)uga, 1a)tennessee, 3) florida state.

that's way, way off.

if tennessee beat florida 59-0, you know who i'd be taking grief from. florida state, georgia, and miami fans. i don't have to worry about tennessee fans because i don't run into them in my daily life.

when you go to work, school, the grocery store, the post office, or wherever.....and you see the enemy and they smirk or make a comment, etc. you get the idea.

you know who florida state people are hearing it from for losing to south florida. not south florida fans. miami and florida fans, that's who.

that's what makes a rivalry.

that's why i would assume for tennessee folks, it's bama hands down.

Most, if not all, UF fans would agree with this. Tennessee is nowhere near the top 2 of UGA/FSU in terms of rivalry. They're a rival, make no mistake about it, but not that kind of rival.

They are probably Steelers fans from last year too.. Giants from the year before, and I'll bet they had a really hard time getting the Patriots stickers off their cars... There are tons of bandwagon fans out there, and they are irrelevant. True fans.. thru thick and thin.. are the ones that matter.

So Vol fans may claim UF as their biggest rival, but that's kind of sad when UF has UT # 4 on their list behind FSU, UGA, and Miami.

Putting largely irrelevant rivalries up there invalidates anything else you might have tried to say.

It is really split between UT and Auburn mostly by age, as has already been pointed out. When UT and Auburn play most BAMA fans I know follow the saying, "We love to see UT lose, but hate to see Auburn win." This is in line with the thought “We love beating UT, but hate losing to Auburn." Regardless both the UT and Auburn game are the highlight of the season. This week I'll be pulling against Auburn.

I think our current biggest rival has to be Florida with all that has been going on this season just fanning the flames. Historically, its Alabama. And yes, the Kentucky game is a big one for me too. I live around all those morons, so I enjoy beating them.

It seems like I get more pumped for the Florida game each year but I would agree that Bama is our biggest rival.

I'm over 25 (by a good margin) but I now think of Florida as our biggest rival. They aren't just a rival in football like Alabama but also basketball, baseball, and every other sport.

5. Kentucky
