Who is most overrated player we will face 2016

I'll admit Kirk is good, but he's not 5 star good. I don't think he's gonna grow anymore, and he's not even 6'.

Kirk was a consensus 5 star player coming out of highschool iirc and what he did last year as a true freshman as both a WR and a special teams kick returner.....gotta respectfully disagree Doc. There are more than a handful of much better candidates for most overrated than that kid IMO.

Jalen Tabor. The only reason Gator fans are praising him is because he forced a key fumble from Worley in the 2013 game which ain't saying much considering he was a sitting duck most of the time. Other than that, I don't see the hype in him.

:lolabove:

Jalen Tabor is 6'0, 199, and is going to be a 1st round draft pick this year to the NFL.

Last year he lead the SEC in passes defended with 14, and chipped in 40 tackles, 4 TFL, and a sack. He also added 4 interceptions, 2 returned for TDs.

But yeah, he did nothing.

:eek:k:

As far as anyone saying Del Rio is overrated, he has gotten almost no preseason hype AT ALL. So I don't see how anyone can say he is overrated.

People have said he is better than Treon Harris, and we have often heard that he would have started last year over Grier if eligible, but that's about it. He isn't pre season SEC or anything.

If it's Luke Del Rio and Jacob Eason, the Vols are in the Money, don't you think?

Myles Garrett. His stats are inflated. If you look at his stats vs. non-conference opponents compared to SEC opponents, it's pretty lopsided. DB has put up better numbers against better competition.

Those were from his freshman year numbers. He had good numbers against good competition last year. Barnett had better freshman stats, Garrett had better sophomore stats.

Yes to Eason.

Hell no to Del Rio.

There's a reason he couldn't make it at Oregon State. Dude's arm talent is terrible. He has a very WEAK arm.

Dude, do you even know what you are talking about? Del Rio transferred to OSU because he wouldn't be forced to sit out a year. In 2014 he was a back up to Sean Mannion, the guy who set the Pac 12 passing yards record and eventual 3rd round pick in the 2015 draft. Del Rio then left OSU because their head coach, Mike Riley, left for the Nebraska job and new head coach Gary Anderson runs a spread offense and Del Rio is a pro style QB. So why did he pick UF? Because his OC at OSU got a job at UF and he followed him.

So in summary there is a reason he left OSU, and it's because the new coach put in a style of offense that he doesn't fit in. It had nothing to do with arm strength

Tabor definitely has more to say than anyone else mentioned here. So, I consider him overrated by himself.

Pretty bad when he brags about beating Tennessee last year, and someone asks him what his stats were that day. He seems too dumb to get that.

If memory serves, Garrett saw yellow flags fly when he got held last year. I know Barnett rarely got that consideration, and some of them were pretty damn obvious.

While I believe both are great DEs (and wish we had both), I would not trade Barnett for Garrett.....ever.

There were uncalled holding plays on both guys, some blatant. Butch can fix that by sending tape to the league after every game with the plays highlighted. He also needs to talk to the officials after the play and point out that Barnett was held and they need to keep a closer eye on it. Then if nothing changes Barnett needs to start getting his hands on the O-lineman's face mask since the officials clearly aren't watching.

I wouldn't trade Barnett either. He's the only for sure 2016 1st round pick on this team. Sutton may work his way back up there but he needs a great year.

(1) Just because he would've started ahead of Grier doesn't prove he has a great arm. He could've just had better decision making with the ball which coaches love or he could've been a better leader than Grier and the team rallied behind him.

(2) And I did watch his spring game. And guess what? I was thoroughly unimpressed. Uninformed fans like yourself were probably impressed by the fact he completed a high percentage of his passes against the second string defense.

What you failed to focus on was the types of passes he completed. Short throws. Crossing routes. The type of throws a coach calls when he knows his QB has a WEAK arm. I was unimpressed by his velocity. The guy threw with very little velocity even on those short 10-15 yard throws. Plus he has a funky sidearm delivery that telegraphs throws.

Just watch what happens when we play him. I'm sure Shoop will blitz like crazy and sit on all the short to intermediate routes.

We'll see if Del Rio can actually throw the ball past 20 yards.

Please be so kind as to find the specific quote where I said Del Rio "has a great arm." Good luck.

"Uninformed fans like you?" Thats hilarious, your player evaluations are legendary around here D4, and
this is particularly ironic since you avidly support a guy for the Heisman that carries the universal knock that
he "can't throw." :eek:lol:

I seriously doubt you watched that spring game. But it is fun watching you get all carried away with yourself.
Now, I never said Del Rio had a great arm or was a great QB, I just said he could throw. Now when you come
back with one of your petulant rants, tell me what a crappy QB Danny Wuerffel was, because you know.....NO velocity!

Looks like this undercover gator has been exposed.

No wonder you're negative about everything Vol related.

Here you go.

Spring games generally make these guys look pretty good since nobody is allowed to knock them on their butts.

Both Eason and Del Rio have impressive arm talent, nobody knows how they'll perform under the lights.

Now I'll wait for you to backtrack and say that "impressive arm talent" doesn't mean he has "a great arm".

After watching highlights of Scarbrough I think he could be a possible candidate here. He had some good runs on tape but they came late in the game after it was already a blowout. Dude has got the size and strength though. Some al.com article said his 40 time dropped from 4.53 to 4.60 after his acl injury so tifwiw.

Myles Garrett is the correct answer. His stats are so padded with out of conference cupcake games

No, if I had meant to say they had a great arm I would have said so. They mean different things you know, only an uninformed fan wouldn't understand that.

AND do not discount their coaching staffs are trying to give these new guys and teammates around them some confidence. Barnett, Vereen, O'Brien, Kongbo, Phillips, Tuttle, KMac, Picou, and Bain will be giving them something alright, in the area of fear of God if they don't have it yet.

LOL.

He's a good back, but last year half of his yards came in the first 4 games against poor defenses (auburn, EMU, Syracuse, and Miss State). He averaged about 5 yards per carry after that when they got into the meat of conference play.

Not saying he isn't good, but definitely overrated.

No.
