Who is Jeremy Pruitt?

I think UT should have beat Ga State, yes. But talent wise ... no. We don’t have the players Bama, UGA or Fla have.

Well, beating them wasn't the problem yesterday, was it? And, you know, teams with lesser talent have beaten Bama, UGA, and UF. Ole Miss, Miss St, aTm... matter of fact, EVERY team that plays Bama on a yearly basis has beaten them at least once since Saban arrived except us.

I'm tired of the talent argument. We played 3 5 star OL yesterday, the rest 4 stars. Top dual threat QB coming out of HS, Top 2 WR corps in the SEC, 2 4 star RBs. We should go 8-4 based on talent vs other teams if thats what we're comparing.

If he's going to find"players that play the right way"he needs to coach the right way and win every game he can.Not burn the house now and re-build it

This is so stupid.

Pruitt is an excellent football coach. He’s said repeatedly that UT has extremely low talent to compete in the SEC. This is not 1998. It’s twenty years of mediocrity that someone has to clean up.

I think he has a good understanding of reality. UT isn’t very good.

He wasn't "competing in the SEC" yesterday.

FWIW, I also believe he is an excellent football coach. And recruiter.

Now, is he more than a DC? Is he HC material? Can he win in the SEC?

Those are the questions to ask. Based on yesterday, initial returns are not favorable.

Saban had his gaggers. Maybe this was Jeremy's. Time will tell.

You have to coach the players up. There is plenty of talent on the team to wins 6 games. He lost to a team with 0( let me repeat) 0 4* players on it. Stop the damn lies and start winning the games that are supposed to be won. October and November will be rough.

You don't understand. We dont have the talent to beat the big boys but Chaney screwed us against GSU. It's never Pruitt. Never never never ever

So it’s all settled in- the loss and disappointment. We all go back to work this coming week and have our prepared reactions to annoying coworkers who will act innocent as they ask with a sheepish, mischievous, and disrespectful grin.

But I wonder who is Jeremy Pruitt? What’s his personality? Why was he so lackadaisical? What’s his main drive? NFL? Stay at Tennessee? Move to what he believes a better program? Why wasn’t he fired up?

Lots of questions I know but does anyone here possibly know him or know someone who knows him? How do they describe him?

He’s certainly different than the guy that kicked the white board during the Florida game and demanded perfection from his players.

Now he’s seems disconnected and unconcerned about his team or playing winning football at UT. He seems to be just going through the motions.

The number one predictor of success is percent 5 stars. UT won’t field an 8-4 team for at least another 3 years. We don’t have it. And Pruitt has already said he won’t coach down.

Majors or Fulmer would have been able to chew nails after a game like that. JP kinda took it in stride like it was no biggie

And that’s not the guy that UT hired.

Where is the guy that coached his but off last season and led the Vols to victories over Kentucky and Auburn.

He seems to have lost his fire that made him a good football coach.

He’s a Bammer who would go back to the state of Alabama in a heart beat.

Didn’t seem to lift a finger or even show emotion after yesterday’s embarrassing loss to a Sun Belt team.

I’d be more than glad to help him pack his bags right now.

Amen. His "the sun will come up tomorrow" comment was very telling about who he is IMO.
