Who is Football's Biggest Screwup Of All Time ?

I will start with my first few picks, however I am sure there are more, so go ahead and post yours.


1. Rae Carruth - had his baby's mama murdered

2. Lawerence Phillips- in jail for arguing with kids over a pickup game of football and started shooting at the kids in California

3. Maurice Clarett - see your local news

4 O. J. Simpson - had something to do with Nicole and Ron Goldman's murder and I'm black, so race has nothing to do with it ! He did it !




* Leonard Little - will put a star by Leonard's name- he's testing my patience

How is Rae Carruth a college football screwup? He had long since departed the campus in Boulder whe he ran afoul of the law. Same with Little and Simpson.

The thread is for college stars that made it or could have made it big in the pros , who really have screwed up their life.
Just post your screwups, it is not to be controversial.

Also I said Leonard is testing my patience with the drunk driving issues in the past, but I still have mad love for him !

Why wouldn't OJ be #1? I'm sure murder's got to be pretty much the worse thing to do on the "What can I do to Screw up my life" list.

I know it's not the smae thing, but watching Ryan Leaf self destruct and be such an a** while he did it was somehting, also Tony Robinson was pretty painful

How about Winslow Jr. Or anyone who has or almost has screwed up there career b/c they wanted to ride a bike they couldn't handle correctly(i.e. Jayson williams, Ben Rotheslieiaoeberger..etc.)

Since the topic is college football's biggest screw up, I would have to state that it must belong to a player who threw his career away while still in college:

Maurice Clarett
Lawrence Philips
1951 Army Team
etc.

Are we talking about screwups, while they were still playing college football, or just screwups that played college football?

Other notables that I don't believe have been mentioned:

Chris Rix (got a 12 on his religion final exam, illegally parked in handicap spot, single-handedly screwed up FSU's title aspirations for 4 years+)

Onterrio Smith (the whizzinator)

Charles Thompson(Drugs), Jerry Parks(Agg. Assault), Nigel Clay and Bernard Hall(Rape) all went to jail for their transgressions at OU in early '89. I'd say that's screwing up.

Remember that Sports Illustrated with headshots of all those players from one school? Was that Oklahoma or Colorado?

I remember seeing Jam Holloway on the cover of SI once in Tennessee's colors.

The mug shots were Colorado. It was Charles Thompson in the orange jumpsuit.

He wasn't a screw-up, but what a big disappointment he was. He was supposed to be all-world.
