I think most of us here can agree that Fulmer is gone. Wether it's today or at the end of the season he's finished at UT.

As far as the coaching staff .....how do they keep?

I think only Chavis survives and PRAY that Clawson get's the boot quick. All the offensive staff will probably go.

I wouldn't care if the new coach cleans house and lets everyone go. I just hope they bring in good coaches that can recruit too.

I hope Clawson goes, I have tried to like this dude but it is apparent that he sucks. The whole staff needs to go.

Can someone explain to me why the hell Clawson flipped the tackles this year on the O-Line? I don't think the players bought into it and I don't the O-Line coach bought into it. His Offense is absolutely terrible and I think it will be awhile before he gets another oppurtunity.

They tried to buy into this, its just hard to adjust to something like that after youve done it another way your entire life. Staff and players were willing, but spring practice and summer isnt near enough time to adjust to this.

I don't think there's any way that Chavis is retained.

He's too symbolic of the Fulmer era.

No one is safe. To bring in a top notch coach he will be given free reign. He will retain any coaches he sees fit (if any) -- all others will be released. Typically, a head coach will retain some coaches for continuity purposes -- but there are no guarantees with this bunch.

One more thing: the recruiting class could actually factor in to retaining certain coaches. It appears Scott and Clawson did a good job of recruiting and a new head coach would really love to bring in some top notch talent. Unfortunately, the poor performance of the offense might not be offset by the recruiting class. We shall see soon enough....

i think we need to get Chris Hatcher on board at some point,

Interesting fact, The NCAA's single-season passing mark was set by Chris Hatcher at FCS Valdosta State in 1994, where he was coached by current Texas Tech coach Mike Leach.

Hatcher was also a GA at Kentucky under Mike Leach. Mike Leach HC and Hatcher OC?

Fulmer - gone

Chavis (DC/LB)- stays, obviously, linebacker U, defense is still proud
Brooks/Caldwell (DL) - stay, maybe need only one DL coach and instead have ST coach
Slade (DB) - stays, (unless eric berry says otherwise)

Clawson (OC) - should stay, probably can't demote him to QB coach
Drayton (RB) - stays unless new HC brings someone
Adkins (OL) - goes, now, hopefully new HC will replace
Scott (WR) - short leash, but stays if clawson stays
Michael (TE) - most expendable position coach, again we need a ST coach

well the hatch man is doing great at georgia southern. we are still recovering from when vangorder screwed us over. He is creative and adaptive. Just look at how last season he threw away his offenseive plan and just gave the ball to jayson foster. I have met him a few times, and took a hunting trip with him last year, and he is a down to earth kinda guy, he reminds me of a new age Erk Russell...

So, you think the next head coach steps in and retains 7 of 9 coaches from Fulmer's staff?

What would be the use of canning Fulmer if the whole staff is retained?

I think this is a little far fetched. I think more are probably gone if Fulmer stays than suggested here with him leaving.

Think of it as Fulmer, Chavis's Defense, and the offensive staff. Fulmer's gone, Chavis's defense stays, and we need a an offense-minded HC who will do what he wants with the offensive coaching staff
