I really feel like CPF is on the way out the door, I think the boosters and long time CPF backers are finally getting in touch with the fan base, just my opinion

Bowden goes as well as the AD....Hamilton replaces AD and takes CPF with him!

Bowden without a doubt,at least Coach has a NC and was one game away from the title game again in 2001. Bowden also has the much bally-hooed "Thunder & Lightning" duo that hasn't put up the numbers our own duo has. By the way I think Hardesty is the best back in the SEC if made the starter.

Clemson backers are getting buyout money together right now, according to someone I know in Greenville who is somewhat connected to the program (although he may be hearing it second hand also).

Bowden's gone. He hasn't won his division or his conference in his 10 seasons there. There's nothing he can do to save his job, other than win the ACC.

Isn't Clemson sort of stuck with Bowden though? His buyout is huge.

Clemson must pay him $4 million if he is terminated with cause before Dec. 1, 2008, $3 million if it does so before Dec. 1, 2009, $2.5 million if it does so between Dec. 1, 2010 and Dec. 1, 2011 and $2 million for the rest of the contract’s life.

Neither are going anywhere.
Bowden is going to salvage a decent season, beast South Carolina in the last game of the season, and win the bowl game. Can't fire a guy for a 9 win season.

Clemson fans are really chirping about this season...they know the ACC is down. they are clearly the most talented team. FSU and Miaimi are supposedly non issues.

if there was ever a time for Clemson to take a hold of the ACC it would have been the last couple/three years.

they have the same hangups we do. and their fans and alum are getting more and more vocal about it as well.

however, Clemson stands to have a much better over all season than us, if for no other reason they're in the ACC and will win 8 or 9 games and go to a pretty good bowl....like they always do.

It was only clemson that kicked our asses in atlanta. What does that say about our program?

actually thinking back to it now, i think that that game was the epitome of what ales both programs.

TN under acheived, adding more fuel to the fire, and Clemson over acheived putting false hopes and expectations in their fans heads.

both programs are basically exactly where they were that night.

Bowden has to be fired at the end of this season. If he manages to keep his job, than that guy is a miracle worker.

Bowden is going to pull a Fulmer-esque comback and win the games he needs to win, and do the minimum to keep his job.
Let's put it this way, take out the two UGA wins the last two years and where is Tennessee as a program? The argument that is keeping Fulmer above water right now is that we've been to the SECCG 2 out of the last 5 years. Does anyone really feel that we've been the best team in the east twice?
No, and the only thing keeping Bowden here is the lack of a winning tradition. He'll do what he needs to do. This year, that probably means making it to the ACCCG and losing a close game in which he has a terrible gameplan and CJ Spiller bails him out (like he's done so many times.)

Bowden always pulls the same trick---gets to a minor bowl, then starts acting like he's interested in another job. Clemson boosters panic, then offer him a contract extension, big raise, bonus and a bigger buyout. They never learn over there in the palmetto state.
